Basic, friendly and great price and location. I have met many wonderful travellers here over the decades and the private rooms, small as they are work well enough in a pricy city, give it a go, Trnsport and food and cheap alley way beers are all close at hand.

As a frequent traveller all over the world, its always a joyable moment to come back to Ali's Nest. The warm genuine personal welcome of Singapore by Ali and the family. You wont get this in any other place. This hotel is not perfect, however thats the charm of this place which makes it extra special rememorable and i can... More

We come to Ali/s Nest after a long and tired day travelling with lot of issues. He was very friendly, his place is a real NEST, where everybody left his best wishes and messages to him and the memories built there. It was a relief to stay here. I immediately receive a warm welcome from Ali, with coffee, tea, ready... More

It is probably the cheapest accomodaton in Singapore, but I really enjoyed it. Location is excellent - literally two minutes to the metro station. Room is small and very simple, but in mine there was AC and a very strong wifi. I did not have any problems with sleep. In the common area (sort of living room) you can meet... More

Although this place is rather expensive (if you have been staying in rooms for £7 on your travels), Ali is very accommodating. On our arrival he helped us plan our trips to the zoo, botanical gardens, Clark quey, Chinatown and Orchard road. Situated in Little India and a 2 min walk to the MRT, the homestay is in a good... It's not the best place in Singapore (quite noisy and rooms very small), but as Ali says "it's simple". Not expensive (we paid 40 usd for Chinese New Year Eve), breakfast is OK, coffee and tea whenver you want, wifi OK, and localisation perfect (in the middle of Little India, 1 min away from subway station Farrer Park). Good value... More

Ali's Nest isn't cheap by backpacking standards but it's definitely the best deal in Singapore! Be advised that the prices on the website are out of date -- we paid 38 SD for a double private room with shared bath. Ali is friendly and is always around to chat or help you. There's a breakfast of toast/jam/butter and free tea/coffee... More

After years of trying different hostels and small hotels, all overpriced, I finally came across Ali's Nest in Farrer Park. You can get a dorm room here for super cheap or a decent size single room for much much cheaper than you'll get anywhere else in Singapore. Outstanding value for money along with a very friendly owner and a good... More

Nice guy and friendly atmosphere. If you choose to stay there because of a tight budget, try to avoid the rooms under the roof, especially during the rainy season..The service, sleep quality and cleanliness are average.

Staying in Little India

Neighborhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly colored saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colorful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Center, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colorful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
