Great things happened at Beary Nice for us. We needed a quick holiday in Singapore while passing through after working in an orphanage in Burma to home in Australia. We visited New Creation Church, then needed accommodation for the night. The taxi driver took us to B.N. where we were warmly welcomed, met great people, were told how to get inexpensive... More

I have only god things to say about this hostel. I've stayed there two times, both really pleasent stays. They have three dorm rooms. Dorms are spacey enough with lockers (own padlock needed!). Wifi is working in rooms also, self sevice breakfast is included. They sell tickets to main attractions with discount price. Staff is really helpful and hostel is... More

I travelled to Singapore in Oct 2013 in a group of 9 people, so we booked a 10-bed room for 3 nights. The price is reasonable, near the Chinatown MRT, wifi is so good (compared to other 4-star hotels I've ever stayed in Singapore like York Hotel or Novotel Clarke Quay). The Chinese restaurant near the hostel is worth trying,... More

We stayed here in an 8 bed dorm for two nights. It is in a great location and probably one of the cheapest accommodation we could find but it is very basic! The wifi and air con in the room were good and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included just tea/coffee and toast.

I like the location in Chinatown close to MRT. Also staff always friendly and helpful and good price in my opinion. I have stayed here each year when visiting Singapore since 2011 I always visit the Korean hot grill couple of blocks away in oriental plaza. Lots of food choices in the immediate area

Facilities: bed was comfortable and I slept great - they even turned on the a.c for us during the day because they thought it was too hot for us - chilling areas were small but adequate and very cozy - I misplaced my phone so their net-books were a life saver - free coffee/tea and cheap drinks including water all... They have an elevator, but i think that's the slowest elevator that i ever known :p The location is near from Chinatown MRT Station and many foods around there.. I get a lot of new friends there! And have a precious moment with them.. Very recommended hostel if u want to travel... More

It's very good hostel if you not worry about sleep over with other people. You will have many friends from that hostel. It's always have receptionist at the counter and have very cheap price. In the morning you can eat buffet breakfast. It's also comfortable about transportation.

Due to the main hostel (Beary Best, which I reviewed separately) being fully booked, on my second night in Singapore I had to move to Beary Nice. Actually almost the same features (small common areas, rather uncomfortable mattress and blanket), but I give Beary Nice a slight edge because of its even more central location in Chinatown, and the "food... I actually booked for two nights but have to forfeit the 2nd night due to flight timing changes. It was nice that they have an elevator (they did warn that it was slow). I arrived past a few minutes before 11pm and there was no one on the front desk though I have already informed them while at the airport... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
