First impression of the room is tiny and moist, it's not like what they showed on the website,, it's much smaller,, there's even no room for opening my luggage,, the floor is so moist and feels so sticky,, The staff was fairly ok, but only the room is the problem,, it's different from the room described on the website,,and also... Nice Place, clean but room is small. You have free coffee outside every morning from the coffee machine. Although there wasn't any on my last day of stay. Hotel is just a few steps away from MRT. And what's best, chinatown street food is just downstairs. Very convenient location to say the least. I would recommend this place to friends... More

We stayed for a few days, lovely central location in chinatown. The room was quite big for Singapore, clean and we upgraded our room so we got a room with balcony which was great. The hotel itself is like other buildings in chinatown with old architecture. the corridors were letting this hotel down, they were dark, all windows were closed,... More

- Very good location, just 3 mins next to MRT station, - Hotel a bit old but still ok for short stay, - Single room without window and big beg, - Air condition is good, - Toilet was too small but water was hot enough, - Don't expect too much service but value for budget traveller

Just for a night stay & alone. Single room without window but comfortable with single big bed. Bathroom was too compact. No noise but can heard pushed trolley or door closing. Food is just around the corner. Shopping heaven. Location excellent depend on what you want. Easy access to MRT. Overall one of the best stayed in Singapore.

In the heart of China town 3 minutes from metro station and surrounded by cheap restaurants, it's a great place to explore Singapore. Room ok, good shower. Staff on reception friendly and helpful. you can book excursions at the front desk.

We arrived in Singapore and check in at Santa Grand Hotel Chinatown on the 27 March 2015. Was a bit confused and difficult to find at 1st as it was very near to Santa Grand Hotel Lai Chun Yuen which is also at Chinatown. Overall, check in was easy and fast. The guy in the receptionist was friendly and tried... More

I am giving this hotel 5 stars for customer service. The front desk helped me print my ticket last minute without extra fee. They were really helpful and friendly tol. Always giving me smile whatever time of the day or night it was. Also, you get what you pay for in this hotel. Considering Singapore is really expensive, it is... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
