This hotel is quite okay for budget travellers. It's a little far from areas of interest. On our first night going back to the hotel we had a really long tiring walk from the nearest MRT station (Novena). So next time we went out we had to take a bus (bus nos. 21 and 131). And it was a breeze... More

Room are small but i don't mind. The toilet is enclosed with the toilet but they keep it clean. The room design is very efficient but it is ok. Staff is ok but not outstanding. It is located far from the MRT but it is why the hotel is cheaper. This hotel could be a good value but they lack... More

The hotel is located on the busy Ballestier street that has close proximity to almost all the city's attraction. The closest MRT station (Novena) is a 10 minute bus ride away. You can hop on to most buses that stop on the bus stop right outside the hotel. The hotel is flanked by all kinds of eateries. Right across the... More

The best thing is free and high speed Wi-Fi as many hotels would charge you on this (S$20 per day in a 4 star hotel). All the facilties expected for a comfortabke stay are there. Although room is small (no proper table) but adequate for me. As for the location, it is far from MRT, but if you do some... More

The Aqueen Hotel Balestier is about 20 minutes walk from the Novena rail station which is just two stops away from the Orchard Rd (city) station. I had a single room that was tiny but clean and otherwise comfortable with an in-room safe. Local phone calls and Wifi are free. Staff are courteous. The single room is best for one... More

We were looking for a cheaper room in Singapore, which you will know is very difficult if you have tried. I found this hotel and booked direct on their website. The reception was reasonable, the room was very tiny, and the shower room was even smaller, but the room was in a reasonable condition, very functional, it had been designed... More

I stayed here for a month in July. Single rooms cost S$120 / US$92 / £60 per night, this is as cheap as Singapore hotels get. Location is very bad. It's a 15 min bus ride from Novena station, which is another 15 min away from the city centre. The neighbourhood feels dodgy, be prepared to receive stares if you're... More

No breakfast in this Aqueen but convenience stores and local coffee shops abound. VERY bad location to try and get taxis. There are also many working girls staying here although they do not conduct 'business' on the premises, or so we think. All in all, the presence of such 'clientele' makes this hotel really seedy.

Stayed four nights at end of November 2010 on recommendation from friend. Staff were very pleasant and courteous. Rooms are very small but clean. Free Complimentary Wi-Fi extremely fast and free complimentary local calls. Constuction going on next to hotel but only during daytime so sleep was never disturbed. Only two "complaints": Ensuite was extremely small with shower spraying over... More
