I visited here on July and stayed 3 nights. Here is Chinese hotel and I saw lots of Chinese tourists staying at this hotel. Most of the night time I heard them talking rather loudly. It made me annoyed a little bit. Room is also Chinese taste. Tables, chests, edges are made by marble. A big picture is on the... More

Very dated hotel and the staff don't smile. We stayed here as a cheap stopover (still £100!) before an early flight to the airport the next morning. We asked them to book us a large taxi as we explained to them that we had four large suitcases and they wouldn't fit in a normal cab. After returning to our room,... More

Stayed here from a Secret Hotel Deal. Very good pricing for what you get below SGD$130. However I don't think I would have stayed here if the prices were $150 and above as its not worth that value. This is an old hotel. It has been rennovated what seems like a couple years ago. I was in a normal room... More

This place is fine if you plan to be out and about a fair bit. We stayed here for two nights with two young children and it was fine because we were out more then we were in. Rooms are basic, pool is basic and pretty underwhelming, food is basic, service is basic. But it is a pretty cheap option... More

Stayed in the hotel for a week and have nothing bad to say except for the small pool located on the ground level of the service apartment building and the gym is not complete. The breakfast was superb complete with lots of varieties....I don't have to eat my lunch anymore. The location was excellent with a bus stop in front... More

We were put up here by Singapore Airlines. If we'd have paid our own money for it, I wouldn't have been happy. We stayed in the serviced apartments next door, which looked really nice. It has a pool and spa, with loungers and chairs. The room itself was ok also, not huge, but for a night was fine. It has... More

This had been a most pleasurable experience for my family and me. We were two families with kids and had booked 3 rooms in the hotel for 8 nights. While we got off with a rough start at The check in, we landed at the hotel at about 10 am and finally got our rooms by 4. They do let... More

The Hotel Royal located on Newton Road in Singapore is a longtime budget favourite of tourists and business people on a tight expense account. Relatively easily accessed via public transport from Changi Airport you will need to change trains at Central for a few extra stops on a second train before emerging from the underground station and following some not... Average hotel facilities, no airport pick up (as advertised) and had to ring twice to take us back as the forgot again. staff somewhat helpful, buffet breakfast quiet good however don't even think about eating at the Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor, the service was pathetic, the food way below average, served luke warm and at different intervals eg,... This ageing property could really use some Tender Loving Care to bring it up to a good level. The only reason I gave it an average rating is because my room was large, the bed comfortable and the airconditioning worked very well. I'm not sure whether my room had recently been renovated but it certainly looked better than the hotel... More
