Little India everywhere looks the same. It;s a bit dirty even in clean Singapore...So if you don;t like such surrounding - try to find different place. BUT the hostel is clean, with small lobby, narrow corridors, "young" atmosphere of backpackers. I spent 2 nights in 6-persons room (booked for 4 ) and it was all right. Just...the sheets and blankets... More

Was the for New Year...hotel was so packed with tourist...Overall not that bad... The annoying part was you need to bring down your bed-sheet and pillow case down to the reception once you are checking out.Location wise is ok...Little India is just near by where you can do some shopping and taste good Indian food. The MRT is also convenient... More

I stayed in family room with friends, for me its an ordinary hostel. Quite far from MRT station around 10min walk, and a little bit dark in night, cause shop already closed. Just a few steps to crowded Little India market that open 24H. The hostel staff not friendly enough. Standard breakfast only cereal and bread, please noted all self... More

They dont take credit cards which is very annoying to me. Luckily the hostel was not very busy, because the dorms are 10 beds, and there is already no place to put the baggage. Can't imagine what it would be like packed. But I found the place well run however, and clean. Only stayed two nights between planes. But for... More

This place was an odd hostel. It has a policy of making the beds yourselves when you arrive, so when somebody checks in at 2am, they then have to make their bed when others are trying to sleep in the hostel, this is ridiculous. Apart from that, the hostel does a job as its in a good location and not... More

Overall, it was a nice experience. The location is close to landmarks. The free breakfast was nice. The Filipino front desk operator, kuya Job and Francis are friendly and accomodating. Recommended for backpackers! 😀

We booked Footprints Hostel because it was reviewed more than average and the price fit our budget. It is located in Bugis and walking distance to MRT. The rooms were okay but the consistent flow of cockroaches from under the door was a disappointment. Managed get a spray from reception (I’m pretty sure they knew the problem as they were... More

Staying in Little India

Neighborhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly colored saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colorful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Center, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colorful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
