Wifi is not convenience because eveyday need to enter new wifi password and sometimes connection is not stable. The closet in the room is broken. Therefore it cannot store anything. But generally, I am satisfied with the service and the environment. It is better that if I bring the swim suit then I can swim at swimming pool.

We stayed one night in Twin Room with 2 Single Beds. Two adults and three children aged 9, 7 and 5 years; they wanted us to get two rooms for AUD 117 each. We kept one room closed and all slept in a single room. Has a LCD tv, mini bar, free wifi and standard accessories in rooms, except a... More

First time to Singapore. Have been to most Asian countries. Maybe it's Singapore but it's expensive at nearly US $80 a night considering no in room safe or breakfast. The photos.,I believe, are flattering. The hotel is old. The first room we were given reeked of stale cigarette smoke, so too the 2nd and the 3rd was ok. Probably a... More

We stayed for a night on the 14th June 2015 for a short visit. The staff welcomed us very well. Although it's a budget hotel and no bell boy to assist us to carry our luggage, but we quite surprised to see the room. Very neat and clean. Wifi and air conditioning is working very2 well. What interesting is, you... More

I stayed here for one night as a stopover. and found it good value for money. Room was clean and spacious enough for me. However the room's window faced into the pool and on that level which meant that kids playing in pool at a late hour plus a vending machine (I think) just outside kept me awake more than... More

We are a family of 4 with two kids aged 8 and 11. We would definitely stay here again. Things to know: easy walking distance to trains and buses, rooms are tired but relatively clean (it is a budget hotel so we had no problem with this), family room very spacious but just a king and a single, myself and... Friendly front desk staff, good location near restaurant and reasonable walking distance to MRT station. Deluxe room is quite spacious and clean. Wifi signal is also good and room was minimally equipped. Overall a good budget hotel in the centre of Singapore city.

We stayed for 2 nights. The food court below the hotel only has Malay food - understandably it is a Malay/Muslim area (I understand there was a change of management of the food court, not sure about this). Putu piring at the food court is awesome. For Chinese hawker food, it is within walking distance to the nearby market (Haig... More

Staying in Joo Chiat

Neighborhood Profile
Joo Chiat
The Joo Chiat area is the traditional home of Peranakan culture in Singapore, an ethnic group descending from the blending of Chinese and Malay families in the 15th century. The neighborhood is packed with colorful shops, local characters, and quiet charm. The main streets overflow with diners enjoying katong laksa, the signature Peranakan spicy noodle soup. Signs of youthful entrepreneurship are visible as well, with modern cafes, bars, and shops abounding. Visit Joo Chiat to take a break from the big city sights and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with a laid-back and local vibe.
