On check in the staff were very friendly, but unfortunately when we reached our room we saw the real hotel. We paid extra for a room with a window. What we got was a room with a window that had been sealed by green glass bricks. This was covered by curtains that can't be opened. When we questioned if there... More

The building looks old from outside but dont het disappointed, the interiors are well maintained. The rooms are really small and so is the money they charge. no point selecting romms with windows as they are locked from outside and wont open. The staff is very good. if your are coming from Changi, take the train and get down at... More

although the hotel building looks old but modern interior, the more important the room, bed linens and clean facilities. which is also nice, the hotel is located in an area that is close to the MRT station, bus station, dining, and shopping. although the traffic around the hotel was crowded, but the atmosphere in the hotel is convenient to break... Great and hospitable service :) They went the extra mile for the guests and is very friendly and accomodating to guests special needs. Very good in directions and very professional. Fast and efficient service too. :) GEMS award should be given to them and they should be rewarded for their good work with bonuses and incentives. I'm impressed and I... More

This was the first time that we stayed in a property of Hotel 81 chain of hotels and the experience was positive. Overall facilities look new and fresh and not rundown as most other budget hotels. The location is a winning point, flanked in between of Bugis and Little India MRT Stations, for you to choose from to access any... More

Stayed 3 days during New Years Eve. Location is right next to Little India and Bugis. 5min walk to Bugis Subway station which is perfectly located. Staff is nice. Rooms are very small and without windows but clean. The bed is no real matress. It is a fake leather like matress (no air circulation). You get value for money so... More

Me and my friend stayed her for 5 nights. The room smelled really bad of mold, really strong. We changed the room twice but it didn't help. The toilet smelled a lot of urine. Spots on sheets and towels. Nasty under the bed and so on. The worst part is that when we arrived the hotel manager overcharged us, with... More

Pros - affordable price; just 5 min walk from Bugis MRT station; reception staff is very friendly; a lot of nice places to eat and shop nearby. Cons - tiny rooms have windows with heavily tinted green glass which barely pass any daylight. The windows can't be opened which leaves an impression of being stuck in the den.

If you are looking for a budget place to just crash after your Singapore tour, then this is the place. It is located in downtown area where shopping and sightseeing can be done at the same time. Rooms are clean, but don't expect much as this is not a luxury hotel. They provide liquid soap but if you're up to... More

Nice hotel located in little india. Clean and good basic hotel. Our room didn't have a window but that was the only negative thing i have to say about it. We spent two nights here before moving along.

Staying in Little India

Neighborhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly colored saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colorful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Center, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colorful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
