The hotel is located in Little India and very close to shopping areas and Metro Station. Rooms are small but the room rent also is very low. Hence you should not mind the size of the rooms. Rooms are kept clean. Buffet breakfast is miserable. You just don't get a decent breakfast. Apart from this, the hotel is good as... More

Good hotel for the money that you pay. Good local look and feel about the place and the staff are al very frinedly and reliable. easy access to the train station which is only a few minutes walk away so centrally positioned. The whole area is packed with relatively cheap bars and restaurants and has an incredible selection of international... More

Those who are troubled finding a clean hotel close to 100SGD should consider this one. The service is good, rooms are clean, location is great, especially for those who enjoy the Indian atmosphere. The personnel is very attentive and helpful. The breakfast could be slightly better, especially the selection of fruits. Instead of serving a pile of bananas it would... More

In Little India, Singapore where an Indian Tourist feel comfortable because of availability of Indian Vegetarian Food, Nice people, South- Indian Envirnment, central Location and MRT station nearby, not many high standard accomodations are available. Madras Hotel, well maintained old property may be a average option. No big-time Luxuries but clean rooms, co-operating staff, variety breakfast, very good location make it... More

Basically if you cannot afford to stay near the harbour then this is a great and comparatively cheap alternative. Smack in the middle of cultural Little India it gives you the chance to see a different side of Singapore. It is only a 10 minute walk from the train station where you can very easily get to all of Singapore.... More

The price of a double room in the Madras Hotel was the same as we paid for a double private room in a hostel and a lot better value for money. We had a large double bed, good bathroom, also large, TV, wireless internet and a reasonable breakfast. The biggest benefit was being in the middle of Little India, our... More

I have stayed at a range of hotels in Singapore so I can say with confidence that I got what I should get for the price I paid at the Madras. I found it clean, adequately serviced, and the staff helpful. The breakfast is quite basic: toast, bananas, cereal and an machine that makes a variety of coffees. There is... More

Madras Hotel is a very basic hotel and provide only breakfast where you'll just find bread, butter, jam and some cornflakes so the breakfast is nothing to write home about. There's nothing to worry about lunch and dinner as there are plenty of restaurants in and around Little India. The rooms however are tiny and there's hardly space to walk... More

We stayed one night in Madras Hotel in July 2012. It was a late check in without a reservation as we missed our train to Kuala Lumpur. Got a good price as it was after mid-night. Room and bathroom were okay and little in size similar to most of the budget hotels in Singapore. There are several indian resturants closer... More
