A budget hotel in the heart of little India - a good location near the center of Singapore. The rooms are small and are equipped with a TV, kettle, air conditioner and free wifi. An adequate breakfast is included in the price. The hotel is within easy walking distance of both Bugis and Little India stations. If taking the train... More

I went on a family trip to Singapore for 5D-4N and stayed for the whole trip in Madras hotel. I had booked a family room for The hotel stay was very pleasant - Clean rooms. Courteous staff & a good locale, with semi-urban feel adds charm to the hotel. Morning breakfast was very simple - But good. I felt it... More

I booked this hotel using makemytrip website but to my shock when i reached the receptionist denied any tie ups with makemytrip and said that they have no bookings in my name. Going by the past reviews posted here i had already dropped an email to the madras hotel official mail. I asked her to check that and after some... More

The good news about the hotel: it is in the middle of the Little India neighborhood which is lots of fun (great restaurants and shops) and the front desk people are very pleasant. It is fairly cheap for Singapore. The bad news our room was very shabby. It desperately needed a fresh coat of paint; curtains were dirty; there was... More

I want to start by saying if you are a light sleeper, avoid this hotel. At night, there is plenty of murmuring from the crowds who are enjoying little india and it is very difficult to sleep. As a consequence, the sleep quality at this hotel is terrible. The hotel overall though is average. It is a budget hotel and... More

Present in one of the busiest part of Singapore, very good hotel for travelers who wish to stay connected to India. Feel home as you enter , very good service. Very near for shopping. Good ambiance overall. If dining was there then its a complete place.....but no regrets for this. One important thing is the staffs are very co-operative &... More

We, including my wife and 2 kids, (7 yr girl, 1 yr boy) went to Singapore and stayed at Madras Hotel @ Tekka - 2 Stars from 24th to 28th Oct. 2013, as suggested by Make My Trip planner guy. The cost for 4 days was reasonable around Indian Rs. 21900 (around S$ 109/night) which I thick was one of... More

The hotel is very budget friendly and is ideally located for Indian tourists - due to lot's of Indian food joints nearby. Mustafa shopping mall is close by. Breakfast is very basic. Room space and amenities are also basic but it gets noisy in night due to many clubs around playing loud music. Staff is pleasant. Would like to come... More

Staying in Little India

Neighborhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly colored saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colorful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Center, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colorful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
