My stay at the Gecko was one of the best stays I could ever experience. With all my travels all around the world, nothing compares to the stay I shared with Mae, Denis and my up most new brother Jhun. Sure I have stayed in some of the worlds most expeinsive hotels/resorts, but really what it all comes down to... more

My friend and I stayed there for 4 days. We did not expect that the rooms would be comfy for their cheap price. The owners and staffs are really great! It's my first time to travel w/ a friend, not to mention we're both teenage girls, they were very accommodating and friendly to the extent that they kindly fetched us... more

I visited the Isla Gecko in late Feb of 2009. When I first saw the prices listed online, I figured it was similar to a Motel 6, and I would only stay a couple of nights.....until I found something else. However, my assumption was inaccurate. The place is more like a bed and breakfast. I found the room to be... more

My partner and I booked into Isla Gecko for 8 nights. We left after 3 nights, walking away from 5 nights pre-paid, non-refundable at 2,640 pesos a night. Suffice to say we weren't happy there, although we tried, really we did. The owners and staff were extremely nice and helpful, and I note that other reviewers have been happy staying... more

Owners reply to Brad Douglas review; The room Brad stayed in measures 4.5 metre x 3.5 metre, ceiling height 2.5 metre not including separate bathroom, is not a small room by Island standards. This is the 1st comment we have regarding room size being too small. A dripping tap would be repaired straight away as your toilet was if we...

I stayed at Isla Gecko for practically a week and it was the best experience I've had in all the 5 times I've been to Boracay. We stayed in the Superior Room with Kitchen. We cooked our own food since the market place at D'Mall is just five minutes away. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. They provided us... more

I stayed at Isla Gecko for 4 nights in February. Booked the week before, and not really knowing where to stay in Boracay, I took a punt and found that I had won. Isla Gecko is very central to everything - just off D'Mall and although not beachfront, was only a one minute walk to the beach. The rooms are... more

Our kiteboarding center recommended this hostel and we were more than happy that they did. The location is convenient, with the wet market and the supermarket around the corner. White Beach is only 100m away and Bulabog is a 5 minute walk to the other side. The rooms are basic with fan, aircon and warm water. The area is very... more

We were in the isla gecko from 22`th of desember 2005,to the 4`th of january 2006. When we booked in at this plase,we talked to the owners(Dennis and Mae)and asked many questions, and they were allways helpfull, but, like always when you book in at an resort, you always expect something negative, but in this place, there is nothing negative to report. Everything from breakfast to... more
