This hotel should simply not be operating. It's a massive construction site. It's incredibly noisy in the morning not to mention there are of course no views of anything. It's dangerous cause you are literally walking by the side of the construction site, no safe zone or signaling of any kind. In my opinion, this was a complete rip off.... More

We spent four nights at this hotel in December 2013. The hotel is perfectly located for a quiet beach vacation, however when we arrived there we realized that all the on-going construction was enough to ruin our peace. The staff is great, and always willing to help, the shuttle service is effective, and the General Manger is hands on. Once... More

We were a party of 4 adults and 2 kids who stayed December 2013 - January 2014. We stayed 7 nights in Boracay and spent 4 nights at the Sol Marina and 3 nights at a villa in Station 3. Although we were aware of the works occurring, we had quite a shock when we realized the extent of the... More

I arrived 27th December 2013 to attend a wedding at the Sol Marina on the 29th. The groom and bride had been told that the construction would be completed in December before their wedding. It looks like it isn't even half way completed. The place is a total construction zone, with no access to the swimming pool. I am sure... More

Overall, this hotel would be a 4 or 5 star rated if the construction is completed by next year. Currently, there are construction taking place in the complex. Here are the positives: * Nice and quiet private beach. * Quiet spacious room * Very friendly staff * Free shuttle to downtown Boracay (Mall). In fact, on one occasion, the latest... More

Overall, I felt let down after staying here. There were some good aspects to staying here but in terms of getting what we paid for, we were ripped off. Good points: Nice private beach (although there were some stray dogs on it) Beachside restaurant Very attentive, friendly, helpful staff - this was the best part Away from the busy, noisy... More

The beach here is so much cleaner and quieter than White Beach. Great place for swimming and sunbathing. You also don't have to worry about leaving your things since they have guards assigned on the beach to watch over your things. Alternatively, you can have the wait staff at the restaurant keep your valuables while you swim. Everyone in the... More

Picked this resort out of gut-feeling and despite negative reviews I've read online. I tried to level my expectations, so as to not be so disappointed if ever the reviews are for real. But much to my delight, Sol Marina is nothing but a hidden gem. Located off beach, this resort is perfect for people who want to stay out... More

We went there with some expectation about the noise from the construction. Lo and behold, we were more than pleasantly surprised by the great experience we had at staying in Sol Marina. My family and I enjoyed the seclusion of the area, our beachfront shared only with Shangri la. This is the vaunted Boracay of decades past, pristine, beautiful, and... More
