Background: Canadian Philippino owner bought a piece of paradise in the 80'es. Left the land for a decade while building small huts on the steep terrain. Now: a small eco friendly resort, simple accommodation, stunning beaches all hit on a rainforesty hillside with stunning views from every angle. Bonus: enjoy great drinks in the sunset while giant bats are circling... More

We arrived reasonably late after a long trip and was really looking forward to this place as it sounded so great. What a shock, it's built on the side of a hill so everything is up and down, the small beach is 180 steps down plus 180 steps back up! The meal we had was uneatable, the room wasn't bad... More

The setting here is absolutely stunning (albeit minuscule and a bit crowded) - the views, the sand, the settings and the grounds are heavenly. However, if you are making the trek across the island for the private dining experience on the beach - just don't! - Firstly, it was almost impossible to book. Right across the island, we made the... Stumbled upon this beach whilst trying to access the neighbouring Punra Bunga beach (which currently has no road access due to construction work) and I'm so glad I did. The beach forms part of the Baling High hotel and the cost of accessing the beach is 500 pesos per person (which includes a 500 spend at the onsite restaurant onsite).... More

Ok...i know what you are thinking when you scroll through all the different hotels & resorts on booking or agoda: Baling Hai seems rustic and a bit outdated in comparison to the shiny brand new hotel complexes dotted around the island. Let me tell you: the photos are deceptive. Yes, being one of the first resorts on the island, it... More

I love beaches but I've always been allergic to Boracay. It doesn't matter how many times it turns up in the list of top 10 beaches in the world, I told myself I'd never visit that overcrowded, overrated place. Until a dear friend of mine decided to have their beach wedding there. Having no choice, I was determined to make... More

If you've been to Boracay, you know White Beach. It's undoubtedly beautiful, don't get me wrong, but it's also SO overrun with tourists, you can't really relax -- or at least we can't. We like nature. We like a little funky. We don't mind a tad rustic. And we hate big hotels with people above and below and on either... More

We loved this place, beautiful view from the Rock House, lovely hosts, a chance to stay in nature. We were worried about having no air con at first but then realised that it wasn't needed. Although I didn't love Boracay, I did love staying here. Catching a tricycle from here was a little annoying as you had to wait for... More

A beautifully sculpted small resort, set into the jungled cliff face. Staff could not have been more helpful, beach is stunning, food was good and the rooms unique. They rope your lunch down the cliff to the beach for you! Yes, there are a few of natures little beasties around, but that all adds to the charm. And yes, there... More

The view is excellent. And this is the only they HV. Resort is in jungle, this type of "eco resort" need alot of effort to maintain, obviously they didn't do it well. And with the price I paid, they not event provide basic toiletries like body shampoo, hair shampoo, and hair drier. No Blanket provided and so cold at night.room... More
