I stayed at La Estrella Beach Resort for 2 weeks in May 2014. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this lovely place. The cabins, which are scattered over a large beautiful garden with ample space between them, offer all the comfort you need for an island holiday: lovely porch with garden/sea view, large comfortable bed with a mosquito net, fan... i was there 2 nights. Amazing place! it seems to be by a swiss lake: calm waters and silence. The hotel provide the basic services (and the price is consequently extremely low) and you must be accept it. For instance, dinner and breakfast are on demand and expressely made. So it takes time and people in rush should not go... More

We stayed there for few nights in Feb 2014. There weren't many guests at the time so was very peaceful and quiet. A beautiful resort, simple and unspoiled. Well looked after landscaped gardens; white sand beach in front. They showed us different bungalos on arrival and let us to pick the one we liked. Rooms are fairly basic (this seems... More

We only stayed here for two nights and had the place practically to ourselves. The coral was surprisingly good and the drop off is a short swim out from the resort. There were more hard corals than at Apo island but the fish life is smaller. The food at the restaurant was delicious. We thought the room we stayed in was... More

I have been dived and stayed over 30+ different countries and from fancy 5stars resort to lousy bugdet homes. I traveled almost every central visayan dive spots in Philippines. This one was quite unique and authentic compare to other places where I have visited. A real nature world by their own choice and hard reality which the island itself is... More

Pros: - Great diving Cons: - NO sharks - Terrible attitude to guests - Racist comments from diving instructors - Were told that certain food items were only for "special friends" - Electricity cut off at midnight (NO AIRCON = BOILING HOT) - Swarms of mosquitoes - Unwelcoming

We spent seven nights on this lovely island. The transfers and arrangements with La Estrella went without a hitch. Our A Frame style room was large and clean with cold water shower. The power to the room is on during the night starting at around 6pm and going off at about 4am. The room is hot without the fan going... More

We went and stayed at la Estrella for a week over New Year's this year. My wife, daughter (6 months at the time) and father in law. Bottom line - a real comfy and warm place. The rooms were clean and spacious, the beds comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small, but ok as we hung around outside for most... More

A friend was working as a dive instructor at this resort and as I was trying to find a new place to dive in March I thought I would try here. I do not like very busy touristy places, and this place fitted the bill - slightly off the beaten track, but still with a little luxury. The accommodation was... More
