My family and I stayed here in March. In all honesty we would have been more comfortable sleeping in a homeless shelter. The place is like a set from a scary movie. It hasn't been painted or repaired in over 20 years. The room was disguisting. Nothing worked and it was the dirtiest place I've ever stayed. There were huge... More

It has a potential to be a great place to stay, it has a nice pool and grounds, but it looks like no one really cares about it anymore. Our room was full of spider web hanging everywhere, and the bathroom didn't look clean at all either. We are used to cheap hotel rooms in developing countries, but we moved... More

since discovering this hotel it has become my port-of-call when i choose to stay in tagbilaran. it is only slightly more expensive than staying in a pensionne house in tagbilaran (approx 800 php), but offers far better facilities (at around 1000 php) bohol la roca was once the jewel in the crown of tagbilran hotels, but that was 50 years... We followed the indication in lonely planet and choosed this hotel. As we opened the room we have been welcomed by a coackroack running away. The drop ceiling was stained and unsettled and linen in bed were dirty and showing a long history in use.Air con was really noisy-and no hot water was provided. Too pricey to privide such bad... Aging grand hotel, nowadays almost empty of clients. Professional service and good facilities (nice pool and garden, good restaurant) make it a welcome oasis next to the noise and dirt of Tagbilaran City.

My husband and i decided to visit Bohol after a very tiring December. Since the plan just came out of our busy minds, we were not really able to booked for any hotel. When we arrived the place, we tried to inquire from Bohol Tropics, and sadly it was fully booked. We were so tired from the long trip, we... More

Like many hotels in the Philippines, this probably looked much better when new. Nowadays it looks rather faded but if that does not worry you, it is ok for the price. The rooms are a good size, with the usual aircon and tv. Wifi worked in my room as well as in the public areas. There is no lift and... More

Stayed here overnight with mom last December. We got stranded for 2 days in Tagbilaran because of the storm Sendong. The hotel is ok, its just a little bit runned down and eerie. But that was ok. What bothered me was, we lost our souvenir items that we brought extra from Panglao and other places we visited in Bohol. I... More
