We just returned from a trip to the Philippines. Altho we visited long-lost relatives in Manila, the highlight of our trip was a 4 day trip to Sabang/Puerta Galera in Mindoro. Using e-mail I booked the Sinandigan Lodge near Sabang sight unseen. It turned out to be a wonderful choice for us. We were tired of the noise of Manila, so the peace and beauty of the lodge was welcome. Just 10 minutes out of town, it was a world of its own--clean, AC rooms with a beautiful view (up several short flights of stairs--very Mediteranean). Good restaurant/bar, nearby dive shop and diving/snorkeling area right down the path. Above all, the staff were a delight--warm, helpful, ready with ideas on where and how to go places. The owner, a man from Ireland who came to visit and stayed to purchase and run it, is friendly and on hand to answer questions. We went on an adventure trip to Tamaraw Falls one day and a snorkeling trip to Small LaLaguna the next. Truly paradise. The pictures on the... more
