Mega Inn is one of the two nice places to stay in Tangkahan, together with Jungle Lodge. It has a nice restaurant and kind staff. The bungalows are great, basic and very cheap, some with nice verandas with river views. In the restaurant you'll often find local guides. Ask for Fran to go on nice and active trips (elephants, tubing,... More

We stayed in a room with our two boys, aged 7 and 8. Our basic bungalow was a little hut with a double bed and we had two mattresses on the floor for the boys. There was a shower which was a pipe out of the wall and toilet which you had to flush with a bucket of water. The... More

There is no shower at all. The rest of the room is very basic. However that is still more than we paid for (6 euro for 2 persons for 1 night). The owner can arrange transport and acitivies prior to your arrival if you e-mail him.

We stayed at the Mega Inn for 1 night after elephant riding & washing. This seems to be the main reason tourists go to Tangkahan, and also for the jungle trekking opportunities. The Mega Inn is close to the main tourist centre area (10 min walk) and one of the first accommodations you'll find after crossing the rope bridge. We... More

This hotel is definitely for people who are looking for adventure and experience the primitive life as close as the locals do. don't expect to find luxury, ventilators, air conditioner because you won't find it. I enjoyed the staying in this place, the staff is very very friendly, they are always ready to help u in anything you need, drinks... More

Stayed May 2013 In the Gecko room This was a very pleasant surprise after a long day travel. We stayed in a privet detached cabin. Not all rooms are detached. With lovely balcony overlooking the river valley. Room had big double bed, dresser and mosquito net. I would recommend bringing your own mosquito net though. The one provided had some... More

Having read other TA reports in Mega Inn we tried to book a room but they were full 3 months ahead of our trip so we had to stay at Jungle Lodge which was terrible compared to Mega Inn so we decided to eat at Mega Inn each day. The rooms all looked very basic but were much better than... More

We stayed at Mega Inn for one night. We knew it would be basic accommodation and they have tried their best to make the rooms comfortable. The staff are fantastic and our highlight has to be the elephant trek and bathing. It's a great place to stay and very few tourists so its seems more real. The road is very... More

When you want to visit Tangkahan, remember you are going there to see the beautiful unspoiled nature and the wonderful elephants. Mega Inn is very basic, do not expect more than a bed (with a very small and somewhat smelly moskito net) and bath room that doesn't really deserve the name. If these are your expectations, you will have a... More

Stayed one night for elephant trekking. Very authentic, cracks in the floor, monkeys on the roof friendly staff. Not luxury but a real jungle experience. Staff helpful and friendly, perfect spot for taking an elephant trip up river and a tube back down. Great family adventure
