We stayed here for two nights. We didn't have any phone signals, nor do they have any wifi. So it really feels like going back in time. We met some of the nicest staff here during our stay in Sumatra! The food they serve is very tasty en cheap. Bungalow's are small, bed's are good. No hot water and no... More

Mega Inn is a very nice place in the middle of the jungle. It feels like you're actually sleeping in the jungle because you can hear all sounds of animals, wind, rain etc. while you're safe in a cottage under a mosquito net. There is no warm water and there's only electricity in the evening when the generating set is... More

This place was my third home for me, visit tangkahan like around 2-3times a year after my moved to bali, before i can stay for a long time and visit every week i can. Love this place so much, kinda missing there and people there. Mega's family was my family also. My heart was left a bit there. Will be... More

We loved Mega Inn, it was just as we had hoped it would be. Situated on the edge of the Gunung Leuser N/P, and at the convergence of two rivers, the wooden/bamboo cottages sit on the hillside offering wonderful views across the river. The cabins are basic but clean and as has been said on previous posts . . .... More

The Mega Inn was just what I was hoping for- Friendly, warm, helpful staff that wanted you to have a great experience and be happy. I suppose the Mega Inn is rustic or basic, but let me tell you, luxury is relative, and after trekking across the Borneo jungle, a cold shower, a non-flushable toilet (well, you flush with water... Before I arrived, I was a bit worried. The reviews were generally quite positive, but a room without running hot water, no flushable toilet, no sink, no real shower ... And that's all true! But do not let this scare you. You reach the Mega Inn via a suspension bridge or via the access to the Gunung Leuser National Park... More

Hubby and I stayed here for two nights during our tour of Sumatra. The Inn consists of individual wooden/bamboo cottages on stilts with a small bedroom and a generous balcony with chairs table and hammock where you could watch the monkeys. The bathroom was very basic, it had a western style toilet which was flushed by scooping water out of... More

Mega Inn is exactly what you expect it to be - remote, basic, charming and relaxing. The rooms are very basic (cold water shower, self-flushing toilet), simple bed with sheet and net etc. But you are in the jungle- so this is what you expect! The place was wonderfully peaceful (I napped in the Hammock every afternoon!) and the staff... More

We had a really great time at Mega Inn (my husband's highlight of the trip). Mr Mega is very helpful and friendly- a genuine person. Our room (basic) was fine- true jungle room with no frills and free monkey poo in the bathroom! The restaurant was very good- Daniel and Desra kept us entertained every night and we missed them... This is a basic place in the jungle, but, boy, did we have a wonderful stay. This, in large part, was due to Mr. Mega, who went above and beyond to help make our visit terrific. It started months before we arrived: I sent him a note through his website and he promptly replied. He arranged a car to pick... More
