The ViaVia Guesthouse is situated near the Jl. Prawirotaman in Yogya, which is a very nice street with many restos and bars. The Guesthouse is very clean, offers a nice garden and the staff is very friendly. they also offer interesting tours and show responsibility to the nature by supporting Trees4Trees. We realy would like to recommend this guesthouse!

I stayed here for 5 days in Sulawesi room. The rooms are clean and simple with a lovely outdoor and private ensuite. Breakfast is included, I paid 225,000 per night from memory including breakfast. It's near plenty of good restaurants and infrastructure but down a quiet laneway. The staff are friendly and fun. The only challenge for some may be... More

Very peacefully , lots to do, just ask the staff. Malioboro street an amazing place to visit .Many little shops to look around and buy gifts at a much better price than in Jakarta. I highly recommend a cooking class organized by the hotel .

Had a wonderful time at this guesthouse, set in a quiet gang just off a street full of warungs, (honest) money changers, tour operators and cafes. The staff were so helpful, and organised a range of local activities for us to do in addition to the excellent tours offered at the versatile ViaVia Cafe 150m away. Our room (Papua) was... More

Really enjoyed my four nights here. It's just off Prawirotaman south of the centre, plenty of great restaurants (including the ViaVia cafe), cafes and bars. Could walk to the Kraton etc in 30 mins, sounds long, but it's a nice walk and you can always hop on a scooter or horsecart/cidomo if not. The streets off Malioboro are so hectic... More

My wife and I stayed at ViaVia over the New Year for 6 nights. We are a mature couple and are used to staying at a wide range of accommodation types. We thought we would try the studio (Rumah Ayam) as a low cost option, supporting an NGO and somewhere that advertised as 'quiet' in the middle of the city.... More

ViaVia is a combination guesthouse and restaurant on the ever-popular Jalan Prawirotaman in Yogyakarta. There are plenty of other options, but this is by far, the best! It is run by women-only and does as much as possible to support the local economy, cultural understanding of minorities, and the local people in a safe, strategic way. ViaVia is a small-scale... We had a great stay here. The staff are really friendly, helpful and full of information. We stayed for 3 nights in 2 rooms. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms were spotless. We even had hot water. When visiting the temples the guesthouse packed us takeaway breakfast which was really kind and delicious. Everyone is just friendly and welcoming... More

I havent even left this place yet and i cant refrain from holding out to review it because of how lovely everyone here is. I dont do guesthouses often as im usually solo backpacking. But with my girfriend in town, staying here was cheaper than most hostels! And there is free delicious, fresh breakfast every morning. AND the staff here... More
