This is an absolute treat in a great area of Jogja. Walking distance to most things or a $2 becak ride if you need. The staff are wonderful and you feel like you are staying in a beautiful Javanese home rather than a hotel. I felt sorry for anyone staying in a bland international hotel as they would miss experiencing... More

At first i planned to stay there for 3 days only, but in the end, i extend it for another day. I really really love this place. You can't say this place is a big hotel because they only have 4 rooms, every room decorated differently with antiques furniture along with modern bathroom equipped with hot and cold shower. This... This is a restored old house with antique furniture and authentic Javanese style. The room was comfortable and clean but don't expect an ultramodern bathroom (although it was clean, with hot shower and everything functioned well). Adding mosquito screens at the bathroom window would be a great improvement. The staff was very nice and helpful. We especially appreciated the lovely... More

Well located in Kraton not far from Malioboro we have spent 6 good days. The breakfast was good and the staff always ask you with a charming smile "at what time your breakfast tomorrow do you want to try something new" It was like if we were with friends in a home stay.

I stayed here again after 1 year. Pak and Ibu reserved me the room which I painted a picture of. I brought to them my framed picture. This is a beautiful, traditional javanese decorated place inspired by the Kraton Palace. The room is comfortable as usual. I enjoyed my breakfast of traditional javanese food and tea everyday. It's a pleasure... More

This small oasis could not be a more perfect place to stay in Yogyakarta. The old colonial building has been beautifully restored and is lovingly kept by its owners. The rooms were equally well kept and had a decadent old worldly feel about them. The staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating, welcome drinks and local food on... More

Our stay in Ndalem Gamelan 12th - 15th was a memorable one. The humble home and humble staff made our stay as if we were part of the family home. Ibu Ibnu welcome us with a smile, to which as if we both knew each other before. Lovely. Home was beautiful. Located in a quiet area of the Kraton BUT... More

Very friendly staff, sometimes not very good English but always smiling. The house is really beautiful and rooms are luxurious for Indonesian standard. Would definitely go here again. It's situated in the relatively quiet area of Kraton. Supermarket and laundry are close by. They prepare lunch or dinner for you when needed or even get up early if you want... More

We stayed at nDalem Gamelan Hotel in May 2013. Our friends who are living in Jakarta - and who have stayed a couple of times in this guest house as well - recommended this place to us for several reasons. And they were absolutely right! First of all: nDalem Gamelan is a small, clean and beautiful decorated accommodation where you... More

This place had come recommended in TripAdvisor, and we were not disappointed.Rooms were clean, common areas had interesting, traditional Javanese decor. This place is not exactly located in the tourist hubs of Jogja, so a little short of restaurants but you can find transport easily. Plus, the Kraton is walking distance. The hosts do not stay at the homestay but the staff... More
