DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! After making a booking with Kampoeng Djawa Hotel online, I arrived after a long, hot taxi ride across the city only to find out that my Standard Room with Shared Bathroom reservation was not available. They informed me that the room had been given to another person in the morning, which I found ridiculous... More

This property was beautifully decorated with greenery. However, it is stuffy due to small walking area and low ceilings outside the rooms. Staff were very helpful, friendly and ready to assist whenever possible. I found this place was very dirty, old, stuffy, lots of mosquitoes and bed bugs. It was too extreme for my preference and liking, despite good reviews... More

Nice rooms, very cozy and clean. The staff is really friendly and helps out a lot. They recommend a good driver. Breakfast was okay. Free tea and water available all the time. Totally okay for the price we paid.

We booked a 'suite deluxe', with private bathroom and airconditioning. The room was quite small, we had two separate beds in stead of one double bed, there was no hot water (after telling the staff, they said they would fix it, but it still didn't work afterwards), the beds were not very comfy, the room was not very clean and... Arrived late afternoon and the last room available was the one upstairs near the reception. The shape of the room is strange but the main inconvenience of this room is there is absolutely no noise isolation from outside so u can hear the traffic from the main road all the time.

This is the second time I have stayed at Kampoeng Djawa, in which I stayed for 2 nights in July and was as good as remembered it. This place is perfect if you want a budget option and want to avoid a sterile hotel room. The rooms are small but very comfortable and there is a nice area to sit... More

Worst experience in Indonesia... When we arrived and announced us, the 2 guys at reception seemed little bit worried, they talked and laughed together in Indonesian so we didn't understand. After some checks, they said (like it was usual and there was no problem!) that they had overbooked the hotel and we'll need to go "at the other hotel from... More

This is a long overdued review but i finally got to write it down! Stayed in Kampoeng Djawa in November 2013 for a 5 day trip and spent all 5 days in there. If you are the type who just wants clean basic amenities and value for money places, this place is definitely a score. Had a basic room downstairs... More

Kampoeng Djawa is a nice, small guesthouse with a garden in between the rooms. The rooms are smallish but clean and great for this price. The staff was very helpful to find our way around and to the sights in the surroundings (borobudur, prambanan). They accidentally overbooked our room but solved it fine by finding us another place to stay.... More
