Lots of potential here but it was SO DIRTY. The sheets and towels were unusable. Breakfast was abysmal. The staff were nosy and made us feel very uncomfortable. They arranged a tour for us and we got totally ripped off. One day we woke up at 4am to find the staff drinking and being so loud by the rooms. Wouldn't... More

We emailed Kampoeng Djawa and they immediately replied. Making a reservation was a breeze. We've been in Yogya a year before, and we enjoyed Jalan Prawirotaman more than Gang I and Gang II. There are a lot of restaurants along this street. They offer free coffee all day. They gave us free breakfast too. The room was pleasant, a bit... More

Very nice guest house (Indonesian style and decoration), well located in a pleasant street with restaurants and bars. The staff was very friendly (they welcomed us with some tea and banana pancakes) and they helped us to organize our day trip to Borobudur. The room was enough big and clean (the bathroom also), with a private patio. We really recommend... More

Enough said, the whole experience was upsetting! The room was just like a train carriage and we didn't get the room we wanted although we have booked it. They also wouldn't allow us to change to another room with the same rate, although the room was empty. They also charged me higher, although after I insisted they gave me the... More

We stayed in this small Homestay in January and enjoyed the place. It is not much of a luxury, but everything works. AC, hot water and friendly helpful staff. The breakfast is nothing you need to have but other restaurants are very close and have good offers. We stayed with our two young kids and shared one room which became... More

We arrived in at the Kampoeng Jawa Hotel and a friendly man showed us our room. The room was nothing like the pictures we have seen on tripadvisor or booking.com The room was very very smal, there where 2 little single beds. I didn't fit in the bed, not even almost. The fan was also tiny and there was a... More

We had pre-booked 2 nights through Hostel World (with deposit, almost two weeks in advance) and confirmed with Gita 6 days before arriving, but upon reaching Djawa we waited in the hallway for 30 minutes before a taxi arrived to take us to the "new, modern guesthouse" which the front desk staff told us was also Kampoeng Djawa. He said... More

We simply loved staying here. The staff is really friendly and helpful, they are always in for a nice chat. The private rooms are situated in a small, typical Javanese garden. It's pretty and it helps keeping the sun away a little. The rooms are nice, with fan or aircon, they are clean and so is the bathroom. It's in... More

Stayed 4 fantastic nights in this guesthouse. I have no bad words for it. The room is very clean and though it just has a small window, it is well ventilated. The bed and pillows are comfy. The bathroom also clean. I also loved the lovely little garden which adds to the more relaxing feel. The Javanese touch in everything... More

I stay 1 night on sep 28, but i can feel the local culture, 2 words i can say; cheap and value. Next time i will stay here again, you can find food by walking . They provide free tea or coffee. And they also provide local food as breakfast.
