Reasonable price and strategic location make Hotel Cipta a good option in the area, close enought to many tourist attraction around Monas, business offices, shopping and dining area, goverment office and nightlife entertainment. The hotel building itself is quite old but well-maintain. Room amenities is sufficent, but the bathroom towel need to the replace with a new one.

Great service, polite staff, superb breakfast included, very trustworthy too as we left all our stuff there for 5 days as went to Borobudur and Singapore, recommend 100%, Jakarta is a wonderful city with so much to offer, I love it and will return as soon as I can.

This is an older hotel catering mainly to Indonesians and SE Asian tourists. It's in a very good location for tourists right across from Jalan Jaksa and with lots of restaurants in the area. It has all the "charms" of an older Indonesian hotel- the carpet is warm, there's a bit of grime here and there (but the place is... More

I like staying at Hotel Cipta for the feeling of an older Jakarta now swiftly vanishing in a plethora of new chain hotels and modern, minimalist renovations. Its location across from the entrance to Jalan Jaksa - Jakarta's "backpackers' street" - sets the tone from which it rises one or two steps. The rooms are mostly clean though can be... More

I took a Exc. Superior Room (Room no. 210) for my last night on a business trip to Jakarta. An old hotel (about 23/28 years old), gloomy nuance in the room, smelly bathroom, and the shower didn't work :( The noise level was quite disturbing that I couldn't sleep properly. I heard some workers (or guests) talked and laughed too... More

Modern hotel with large rooms and good bathrooms. We'll situated in Jakarta center. When we were there some smoke problem occurred in the corridors which the staff tried to control desperately. Bizarre. But it was solved later-on. Excellent choice of European and Indonesian breakfasts.

Hotel is located almost at the end of Jalan Jaksa, what used to be a backpakers street. Really heavy traffic in front of a hotel and it' difficult to cross the street. Rooms were old but clean, and staff was friendly and helpful. There's a nice restaurant behind a reception and a five minute walk to Jalan Jaksa bars and... More

Old hotel, worn out furniture and carpet, smelly bathroom and sloppy maintenance. Expensive for what it offers. If you get a room above the kitchen then you'll smell all the variety of food offered there... since early morning!

Having returned from my short trip to JKT last week & stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, I would like to share my personal views with travellers who may be considering this hotel as their preferred choice. Hotel reception is extremely friendly and transportation is easily accessible and it takes approx. 40 mins ride from Int'l Airport to hotel... More

We had problems with language to sort out our booking. Staff is not well trained and they cannot speak decent English. The hotel is very old and not well maintained. Very expensive compared to what you get, a bare minimum.
