This was booked via travel agent for a one night layover after a surf trip. An impressive facade but inside it is very tired and dated. Rooms are acceptable but nothing special. Breakfast was included in the price but limited. Next time I'll stay at the transit hotel at the airport!

This hotel is now known at the de Rivier. Built by the Dutch, it is still back in pre-war times, despite claims to the contrary. Charming staff meet and greet, obviously wanting the place to work. However, there are leaks everywhere resulting in smelling carpet and a general air of discomfort. The spacious, fabulous rooms would have been wonderful once,... More

The only interesting thing is the traditional colonial style and near to Kota Tua (which you can reach by walking), also Kota Train Station, and fast check in. Other things, all poor. Tasteless breakfast, old furniture, and interior. Nothing I can say. totally not worth it to stay here.

Location was allright in Kota the old harbor. Dirty swimmingpool. Large but outdated rooms. Friendly staff. Supplemenatary bed poor quality. Suitable for a short stay of perhaps two days but no longer

We spent 3 days in a sadly run down yet beautiful hotel. The room badly needed to be updated as the furnishings and bathrooms were delapitated however the king size bed was comfortable. The charm of this hotel is its closeness to the historical centre of Kota Jakarta which contains some interesting attractions such as the Wayang Puppet museum in... More

we booked this hotel via Navelar, Hamburg based on the website of the hotel and info from Navelar. We travel a lot and never found a hotel this run down, dirty, smelly, holes in the carpets, no furniture left in the shared spaces, dried blood stains in the bed linnen, we didn't dare to take of our shoes in the... Please realize you are looking at an hotel in Kota, the old colonial city centre and old harbor, in Jakarta-North (just above China Town). This part of town has completely lost its shine and charm, and it applies to everything. Probably why you won't find any spectaculair hotels in this part of town. The good: the old colonial style of... More

The hotel is in the old town Batavia and the hotel could be said to be old but just think you are sleeping in a part of history. They were starting to renovate when I was staying there as well. My room was ok nice bed shower, toilet everything I needed. The breakfast was good curently in Europe now and... More

Contrary to that reflected in others' recent reviews, my experience was quite OK. Quiet room, and the others I encountered were mostly mature couples and individuals there for a meeting. It is a big old dinosaur of a hotel with well established roaches, but the proximity to Cafe Batavia and the museums made it A-OK and was my reason for... More

Hotel location is quite strategic in the midst of tourist destinations in the city center jakata. But please, DO NOT BE FOOLED by the outside of the hotel form a large and majestic, but for service, cleanliness, and the food is very disappointing. We staying for 4 days and 3 nights, and every single night when we're trying to get... More
