One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at in a long time! First of all, the hostel has a pdf file available on their website that you can print out and give your taxi driver at the airport. There are directions in English and in Bahasa Indonesia. Loved this! My friend and I stayed two nights in a four-bed dorm.... More

I arrived at the airport and took a taxi to this hostel- the train is cheaper but given I arrived late in the evening I opted for a taxi. It is a half hour drive and a little tricky to find but the directions provided on the website certainly help. I arrived, was met by friendly staff, the hostel has... More

I have been travelling 3 years and this is the best hostel I have stayed in. I originally booked 2 nights but ended up staying for 6 weeks because I felt so comfortable. What sets this hostel apart from many others is the excellent facilities. The full sized pool table is in excellent condition and free to use. The cinema... More

We stayed for one night in the six degree hostel in Jakarta to experience the nightlife of Jakarta. The location is convenient and some "sight"-seeing can be done on foot. We stayed in the 9-bed dorm and it was really good. We loved the rooftop area and the table tennis downstairs. The hostel has a very nice atmosphere which helps... More

Thanks so much for the feedback. You're 'exactly as a trip advisor reviewer' should be! Location-wise we are exactly in the centre of the city, but as it's such a huge city many places (in any direction) are not walkable. This is the same anywhere in the city though. However we are walking distance from markets, restaurants, bars, the national... More

I stayed at 6 Degrees for two nights, once in a double room and once in a dorm. I was impressed by the spaciousness of the double room and the dorm was wonderful too, as you can actually have some privacy there. It's a very complete hostel, lots of amenities ans services (mini-cinema, great menu, self-service kitchen, pool table, rooftop... More

Wow, how kind of you! I'm not sure we're 'perfect' (yet), but we're always trying to be better. And it's the wonderful people like you that we meet (and the lovely reviews) that make it all worthwhile. Thank you! More

This place is awesome! Some of the dorm beds are in alcoves (with USB charging port and a fan) giving you a lot of privacy while others just have bunk beds. All are immaculately clean though. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming while the hotel is run by a team consisting of an Englishman, an Irishman and their Indonesian... More

what a great, detailed review! thank you so much! I think you just about covered everything. Some good advice for future guests here. Thanks again. For anyone thinking of booking, the 'alcove' beds mentioned in this review are the 'pod dorms' on our website. They do indeed offer a lot more privacy than our slightly cheaper 'basic dorm' beds. Stayed at the Six Degrees for a few days in March with a group of friends. The central location is great as you can choose to go either north/south/east or west without concerns. It was a very relaxed atmosphere, and there are even plenty of things to do inside - pool table, hundreds of movies, gym area, xbox (although I... More

It's great to hear that you appreciated all of the facilities, and the atmosphere. We tried to make sure there's something for everyone. The Xbox Games do indeed need a sort through - some work, some don't. We're kinda waiting until the New Xbox comes down in price and then we'll get one of those! Thanks again, and we hope... More

Although Jakarta is probably my least favorite city in SE Asia, staying in Six Degrees made it quite enjoyable, it's clean, the common room is really nice and there's a rooftop terrace. The owners and staff are super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend it!

The directions given to get from the airport to the hostel made it the easiest transfer we've done so far this past month. We were given the friendliest welcome when we got here and the main woman at reception has gone out of her way to be friendly and inviting and helpful with as much as she can. There are... More

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review of Six Degrees. Jakarta is called the "big durian" for a reason - it smells quite bad, and people either love it or hate it. It's a shame you didn't grow to love the city itself (it takes time), but we're really happy you enjoyed your stay at the... More
