It is a great place, peaceful and relaxing. The sea is super clean and clear. In the morning, when the tide is low, it is easy to walk to the small island. Snorkling is a must thing to do here. Swimming in the evening also a good idea. Staff is very friendly and helpful. i had a great time there... More

Pulau Macan is only 2 hours away from Jakarta downtown, by speedboat. Departed from Marina at 08.00 am and arrived at around 10.00 am. It's a great place, peaceful and relaxing, a small paradise. The view is so beautiful, the sea is clean and clear. Wooden hut is comforting, the food is great and the staff are friendly. Don't expect... More

pulau macan used to be a quick escape away from jakarta. now it has become overpriced for what it is. it took nearly 3 hours each way on the cramped boat. on the island there is no longer a spokesperson to handle any complaints. and worst of all the departure time is 2pm, meaning the holiday is cut in half,... Hi Chrismasterjak, Sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your recent visit to our islands. We are well aware of the boat problem and the growing popularity of the thousand islands - which means that our guests usually need about 2 hours now instead of the old standard 1.5 hours. Our team has been busy for the past month... More

We stayed two days and had a super relaxed holiday. Would have stayed longer if it was a bit cheaper! The food was good and the staff very helpful and friendly. At one time we were the only guests on the island! But the downside of that was they did not run the boat for the island hoping trip that... More

Cute huts, breathtaking views. Loved playing in the water, kayaking and snorkeling, and walking across to the other island was likewise a very fun experience. It was a bit pricey, but after talking to the people running it, I see why and honestly I don't mind going the extra mile for the peace and quiet the island afforded. Although getting... More

As you take the speedboat from Jakarta to Pulau Macan, cutting through the filthy water, it's hard to imagine that there's a hidden paradise -- with white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, and thriving coral -- anywhere remotely near the city. But as you go along, and leave Jakarta in the distance, the litter bobbing in the sea starts to... More

I recently spent the weekend on Pulau Macan with some friends, and it was an interesting experience. The positive aspects are the spectacular ocean and amazing snorkeling. The resort also boasts some very beautiful and tranquil common areas. The not-so-great parts are the organization and price. We had 3 people at 180 USD a piece in a room that we... More

Dear Phulana, Thank you for your honest review and I'm sorry to hear about your experience with us being less than satisfactory. Thank you for complimenting us on our location, the snorkelling you experienced, and the challenges of running an eco resort. Given our thousands of feedback forms and our ranking here on Trip Advisor, I hope you know that... More

What a beautiful little place. When I decided to head off for the day I had a host of islands to chose from, all of which were no further than 90 minutes by speed boat from Ancol Marina, Jakarta. After a a bit of internet action, I chose Pulau Macan (Tiger Island) primarily as it was one of the few... More

Although expensive for the area, the resort is a great location for a short break to escape the bustle of JKT. Not much to do, but that's what makes it special! Wine at 600,000 a bottle means you should bring your own & pay corkage.

What a discovery! This two-hectare heaven is a natural wonder, with beach cottages, dining lodge, outdoor lounge and pier( with solar panels) tastefully blending in with the palms, pines and mangroves. Ideal for a unique romantic escape...your own private island in the Java Sea, with perfect views in every direction. You can swim, snorkel or kayak to a deserted island... More
