I like the rooftop of this hostel, where you can view the potala palace by night, drinking cold beer and chatting with friends. The staff is helpful and friendly, we got lots of good advise from the staff. Tibet is not fully open for foreigners, so we had to do some organised trip from this hostel. They offered some good... We were housed here as part of our package tour. First off, we loved the graffiti on the walls, and the staff is really great too. If you are free (and not freezing to death), the rooftop is a great place to chill and just sip a cold beer while looking at a most awesome view of the Potala Palace.... More

This place is not great. It probably was a good a few years ago but now it is a bit run-down. The reception area is nice but don't be fooled. The bedrooms are freezing. The beds are so uncomfortable. Rock hard mattresses meant we had the worst night sleep ever. We were a group of 11 travelling around Tibet and... More

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. My wife commented they are like angels. She had a giddy spell after climbing one flight of stair when she arrived at the hostel after the 44 hours train journey from Chengdu. The staff immediately help her to carry the bags to the room, provided her with glucose, and advised her not to... More

We stayed in a room for 3 last year while our being in Lhasa. This is quite noisy place firstly for chinese independent tourists, but also some agency can arrange your stay here for a budget tour. The cleanless is worse than in hostels in Europe you could stay before, but average athmosphere is approx. the same. Staff is friendly... More

Stayed twice in this property as part of an organized tour. This property has two buildings: the new and the old one. The first night we where put in the old one in a double bed room facing the inner patio of the building. The ensuite bathroom was filthy and terribly smelly, we didn't even try the shower since the... More

Don't take the dormitory, dormitories are too cold and the showers are pretty bad, take a private room decorate in Japanese style very comfortable and not expensive. With a panoramic restaurant fantastically decorated in Tibetan style and amazing view to Potala Palace they serve you delicious Tibetan food, there are 6 Pc's with fast internet and Tibetan chill out music... There was a comment written on the stairwell along the lines of how terribly they treat foreigners (non-chinese) that totally sums up this hostel. We booked over the internet through a booking site after getting no response through email, getting hung up on twice when ringing, and being unable to use the UTELS website since it was only running in...
