We loved out 5 night stay at Dhood Gu. It is in a great location right off the Barkhor but it is set far enough off the main street that you don't hear most of the traffic noise. The staff here were so friendly and helpful. We loved the rooftop bar with the excellent view of the Potala Palace. We... More

We stayed in this hotel for a couple of days during april 2015. Very friendly staff. The hotel is perfectly located. The old town of Lhasa is right next door. Beautifully decorated. During the nights Lhasa is still cold, but the hotel rooms have good floor heating. For the rest wear warm stuff and you will be fine. Wifi available.... More

The good: terribly friendly staff (all Nepali); Restsurant with bellavista terrace over the old city and Potala palace; elevator (!!); literally 2 minutes walking from the Jhokang temple (the heart of the old town); 20 min walk from the Potala palace; hotel decorated in old Tibetan style; The bad: most rooms (and especially bathrooms) are in terrible need for a... We stayed here for 3 nights and it was rather average unfortunately. The location of the Hotel is very good, just off the main road and only 5 minutes by foot to the Jokhang temple and restaurants. I did like the Tibetan style interior in the lobby and in the rooms. The rooms were however not very clean, very dusty... More

I spent 4 nights on two different occasions at the Dhood Good. Everything looks okay on the surface, but there are glaring problems when you look a little closer. On both occasions, my room smelled heavily of cigarettes, the floors were dirty and the bathroom had previous occupant's leftover shampoo bottles and toothpaste tubes. There was a space age type... We stayed at this hotel through our tour of China and Tibet arranged by Gate 1 This hotel was a truly Tibetan experience for us. The age, look of, and location of the hotel could not have been better. The staff was the most friendly and English proficient of any of the hotels we stayed at during our trip to... More

A visually attractive hotel at first glance with it's colours and historic and characterful ambience, it has a great view of the Potala Palace from the rooftop café. Generally it is an old hotel which is trying to modernise our room 6122 on the first floor(all rooms are prefixed 6) was in need of renovation so ask for one of... More

The Dhood Gu hotel is a historic property in the heart of Lhasa and walking distance to many sights, restaurants and shops. Access can be difficult due to the location, but for those wishing to walk most places this is not an issue except with taxis or tour buses. The hotel property itself reflects classic Tibetan architecture and a quaint... More

The staff at Dhood Gu were very friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean but the bathroom was not very nice (but clean). The breakfast came with the room. The restaurant was great...always happy and accomodating. The hotel and the rooms were of a Tibetan design. They were interesting and pretty. The hotel was right in the middle of downtown... More

We enjoyed the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and wanted to please. In the heart of Lhasa, you experience the feel of Tibet. There is free Wifi in the lobby and restaurant, but not in the rooms. We enjoyed this colorful hotel!
