The Dhood Gu hotel is a historic property in the heart of Lhasa and walking distance to many sights, restaurants and shops. Access can be difficult due to the location, but for those wishing to walk most places this is not an issue except with taxis or tour buses. The hotel property itself reflects classic Tibetan architecture and a quaint... More

The staff at Dhood Gu were very friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean but the bathroom was not very nice (but clean). The breakfast came with the room. The restaurant was great...always happy and accomodating. The hotel and the rooms were of a Tibetan design. They were interesting and pretty. The hotel was right in the middle of downtown... More

We enjoyed the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and wanted to please. In the heart of Lhasa, you experience the feel of Tibet. There is free Wifi in the lobby and restaurant, but not in the rooms. We enjoyed this colorful hotel!

I had first stayed at the Dhood Gu Hotel in October 2006 during my maiden voyage to Tibet. Back then, I was wowed by its traditional Tibetan designs and motifs, and had spent many a time photographing the soft afternoon sunlight filtering through the hotel room's beautiful windows and curtains, and furniture in the lobby. Fast forward eight years...I was... More

The rooms were clean and the owners very friendly. It is located in a central location. Breakfast was not very suited to American tastes, but then when in Tibet maybe nothing is. Didn't seem to have A/C in our room and our friends bed was so hard they could not sleep. It was OK but I expect there may be... More

This old hotel has the complete flavor of old Tibet. The rooms are quite adequate although our first trip through, we had a VERY small, corner room. In retrospect, I would have asked to upgrade to a larger one! They have them. It's about a block out from the main square and close to many good restaurants . It's a... More

We took a three week tour with Sichuan China International Travel Service, Sichuan Overseas Tourist Co. Ours was organized by Derek Wong. It was an excellent experience. All that Derek had promised materialized: all greeters, tourist guides, groups, tours and facilitators were there for us, on time and with very good English and very helpful. Derek had organized all hotels,... More

It was like every Tibetan details was made to provide us a Tibetan feeling. The rooms are very cosy and cute. Everything is very colourful and the staff is supporting and nice. Definitely a perfect place to stay in Lhasa. Situated in the old town and very close to all of the tourist attractions.
