We were brought to this guest house (it's not a hotel) as part of a Tibet package tour. Check in was quick and easy. We walked ourselves to our room and upon entering realised we would be sharing with 4 random men. Now I did book a budget tour, but it wasn't THAT budget I can tell you that right... More

Situated in the center of old city, Yak (not Yake) Hotel has large rooms with an interesting interior design. Large soft beds. Large bathroom, but separated by two glass curtain-walls from room. Towels were not changed daily, but folded back to be reused!!! Awful! Some teabags but no sugar in the room. Poor WiFi (no Facebook or Youtube access, which... More

Very good location friendly staff good breakfast working wifi ! Located very close to Jokhang temple and local shops and restaurants, in the middle of the busy street but in the heart of Lhasa. Overall as a budget hotel i can say it is nice and worth of staying for 2-3 nights.

We were booked into the Yak Hotel in Lhasa as part of a tour group. I got the impression that most of the people staying in the hotel were members of different touring parties. Whether this is a factor in hotel service is hard to say, but the staff service could best be described as "lack lustre" and at time... More

This is a return trip after a year's interval. This hotel gets good reviews because I guess that there are not many other hotels used by the local travel agents. It is well located but it is not, I suggest, as good as some suggest. The reception staff leave much to be desired and appear to be unable to cope... More

Really can't fault this hotel too much. The location is superb, prices moderate, staff responsive, room clean. Lobby is good and restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast is fine and beats those of moderate priced lodges in the State. Rooms can use some upgrading and deferred maintenance in the bathroom. So what the hotel lacks in room perfection is more than... More

location and room are fine but the staff was very rude. They told us the wrong check-out time and tried to charge us one extra day, when we complain to their boss and the boss told us we shouldn't pay the extra money, the receptionist told us "ok fine, never come back here"

I stayed here for 3 nights on my way to Mount Kailash. It was a nice place to spend the first few days, room was comfortable and clean - bare in mind that the travel agency booked for me and I do not know if there are different categories of rooms. Only downside in the room was that it was... More

This place has so much black mold that you will be sick in less then three days. DO not stay here ! It is a health issue. Food is poor quality as well. I noticed a ton of tourist at this hotel. Beware tour companies. Some may think it is the higher altitude but don't be fooled.

This hotel has no elevator, 5th floor corridor is dark and has very dirty carpet. Rooms facing main street are bigger, but noisy. The only positive thing about this hotel is terrace for breakfast- stunning view. They have friendly staff. Make sure you arrive at breakfast early to get enough food. Overall ok for one-two nights stay, not impressive.
