Was based very central, easy walk to the Potala Palace 10 minutes .When I arrived by train from Lanzhou 27 hours train trip I got hit hard with altitude sickness .It was nice to get into a nice clean beat and chill for the night .Hotel staff were happy to help ,and thanks to my Italian friends on our tour who... I stayed in Lhasa for 4 nights at the Yak hotel. We were in a big group of 30 people. They have poor wifi service and when I asked if there was somewhere I could stand to get better service they ignored me. Our room smelled like sewage and we mentioned this to the front desk and asked if someone... More

this hotel is extremely popular with western tourists. The hotel consists of several buildings and breakfast is taken in the roof top restaurant which has good views toward the Potala and the Barkhor. The hotel can feel a bit crowded at times and the high concentration of western tourists often meetings with tour guides are held in the lobby and... More

We stayed here for 4 days in Nov 2014 as part of our 8 day tour of Tibet. The place is within walking distance of Barkhor Street and is located in old Lhasa where many Tibetans live. The hotel itself is quite old but the rooms are nicely decored. I think most of the staff does not speak English but... More

We stayed here for 4 days while visiting Lhasa, and were with happy with the stay. The rooms were clean and simple and always had tea (kettle and tea bags). The room was somewhat chilly, but that's Lhasa in late October. The hotel has a good location and we were within walking distance to a number of interesting sights. A... More

We stayed here in October for 2 days, the staff was nice, the rooms were clean. We initially got a Room with an Asian toilet (on the ground), we insisted to be moved to a room with a western toilet and finally they agreed. However they wanted to charge extra for the toilet difference. Eventually, they let it go. Breakfast... More

I enjoyed the stay in this hotel in general. It was very nice to come home after a nice guided tour and have a nice cup of tea (kettle and teabags provided). I like to let my thoughts drift with a bit of watching tv, unfortunately the tv has only one english channel, but that left me connected with the... More

Stayed in hotel as part of our Lhasa private tour. Hotel lobby looks nice but on entering our rooms our perception changed. Our rooms are in desperate need of a makeover & furniture replaced. Paints are peeling off walls & chairs badly stained/dirty. Toilet bowl also stained. Too bad our first choice hotel had no vacancy. Only plus point is... More

Yak Hotel in Lhasa is a beautiful hotel in Tibetan style. Tibetan women, ornamented in beautiful Tibetan costumes manage the reception. It's always busy at the reception. You can just sit in the beautiful decorated hall and enjoy the activity of hotelguests, groups of tourists and guides. The hotel including restaurant Dunya and travel agency Shigatse Travel is situated around... More
