the location of the hotel is a positive otherwise only rates an average, room was small and bathroom needs updating, toilet paper in short supply, saw many patrons requesting more, the breakfast was bland and ordinary. id look elsewhere.

The first to realise is this guesthouse is a 5 story walk up building (no lifts), which anywhere else would not be a problem. However when new to Lhasa and the altitude you do absolutely lose your breath climbing up to your room on the higher floors. The hotel is setup around the central atrium, which lets in lots of... Great value budget hotel especially with the low winter rates. Positives: great location, friendly helpful staff, hot water for bathing and excellent wifi reception in room 406, which was nicely decorated room and very quiet (one night I was the only guest there). Negatives: the electric space heater works fine only if you're within an arm's length of it. The... More

It's sure the best in Lhasa. The most important is that you have hot water in bath. Most expensive hotels 4-5 stars has cold water! The hotel is like monastery inside, very tradisional place. Rooms is warm and comfortable. Very clean! The staff is amazing, they give us a gifts also. The location was excellent next to Barkor street that... More

This is a lovely cozy hotel. The owner of the place is very nice and helpful. She gave good directions and suggestions about where to visit and traffic. Other staff are helpful too especially helping to move our luggages. I love the decoration esp. the lock at the door. The food is okay and location is great. Just around the... More

First time to Tibet and found this hotel with lots of positive reviews. Front desk was very nice and helpful, I was worried about cant having any decent food but the hotel s restaurant provide really good western food. Specially their egg sandwich and soup noodles. Really enjoy the stay.

I spent 3 nights at this hotel in September, 2012. The hotel is located off a quiet street close to the middle of the old town (Tibetan quarter) of Lhasa. It is about 5 minutes from Barkhor and 7 minutes from Jokhang by foot. It is also within walking distance to some tea houses and restaurants frequented by the locals... More

These were all part of a lovely experience. The room was quiet, scrupulously clean and comfortable. Every person, from the front desk to the housekeeping, was friendly and helpful. I look forward to staying at this hotel again.

We just returned from Lhasa after having spent 3 nights in this hotel. Tashitakge Hotel made our trip to one of the most rural part of China a memorable and comfortable (to the best extent) journey. The hotel is very clean, cosy and good value for money. It is well equipped with hot water, warm blankets, humidifier (a must in... More
