In a fast changing city like Lhasa, you need to find a sanctuary. St Regis in Lhasa is probably your best bet! There was a change in management recently and what a difference it made. Kudos to the new General Manger, Ricardo Leal and the new hotel manager, Felix Patrick. They have begun a new start for this wonderful abode... More

We had very high expectations, obviously and were a bit let down. The food was very expensive compared to anywhere in town and mediocre at best. The room was spacious (bathroom very nice), but had signs of wear. The windows had broken handles so they could be opened, but not closed (they only opened a few millimeters, anyway). We were... I stayed at St. Regis during my trip in Tibet back in early May. A bit pricy but it worth every penny you pay. The buildings and interior design fully respect and incorporate the local cultural spirits and yet the facilities are modern with ultimately comforts. Excellent service, staff is professionally trained yet you still see the purity and simplicity... More

I stayed at the St.Regis Lhasa for a week during my visit to Tibet in October 2013, and it easily met the high expectations I had for it. The propert is stunning, yet is sensitive to both local traditional styles and the fragile environment in Tibet. The reception area is both very grand, yet muted enough to showcase the true... More

Checked in at the St Regis Hotel as a surprise gift from my travel agent. Everything was perfect from the point of view of the guest. Hotel is extremely beautiful and clean. Hotel staff are friendly and eager to please, although they are quite overworked. I can see some of the waitresses at the Yan Ting Chinese restaurant panting to... More

St. Regis – a brand of luxurious hotel all around the world – is perhaps something excessive for the old Lhasa environment. At a price higher than many other upscale resorts in East Asia it offers a small Potala palace or better a number of small Potala palaces in a wide court with a tiny lake in the middle. The... More

Convenient place to stay while visiting Lhasa. The hotel ambiance fits perfectly into the environment. We stayed in one of the 8 rooms that face the Potala palace so the view was delightful, particularly in the evening when the palace is lighted. The room amenities were all we could ask for and more, including oxygen and humidifier for the higher... More

We stayed only two nights at this beautiful spot. The interior furnishings are fantastic. Dark woods and stone make for a relaxing stay. There is even a distant view of the palace. The spa was professional and soothing. The overall service was also professional and friendly. Standard but high quality buffet breakfast and dinner.

The property was fantastic and location is convenient. The hotel has a very delicate and exquisite decoration, Tibetan and South East Asian style, and so is the super spacious and luxurious room. However, the service is no that comparable, and breakfast is disappointing and poor by a five star standard. Check-in took more than half an hour and the staff... More

We stayed at the St. Regis Lhasa for 3 nights as part of our Viking tour. The room/suite (which I think was standard) was breathtaking at first glance -- very spa-like and luxurious. But then came the little oddities -- for instance, the toilet is in a separate little room from the area with the tub and the sinks BUT... More
