After a week of hard core travel around Tibet, we treated ourselves to one last night at the St Regis. Sumptous room, biggest hotel bathroom we have ever stayed in! Great spa and pool, food in the restaurants was excellent. The bar (Decanter) has one of the best views in the world - we arrived at dusk and looked out... More

By far the best hotel in Lhasa with huge luxury rooms and great views of the Potala Palace. A few minor issues such as layout: it is difficult to find your way around the hotel. For example the Tibetan Restaurant on the 3rd floor is well signposted but didn't exist, and the rooftop bar on the 6th floor DOES exist... More

The St. Regis has a beautiful location with an excellent view of the Potala palace. We were not staying at the Hotel but decided to come and have a nice dinner to celebrate a successful trip through Tibet. The hotel restaurant did not meet St. Regis quality and service by any means. In fact, it felt as if we were... More

This was perhaps one of the most beautiful experiences we have ever had. What amazed us most was the graciousness of the people and the kindness. The hotel was so tranquil and peaceful and we just got lost in the stillness. The food was superb and the rooms Devine.

After our first stay we went off for a tour camping and returned to lhasa for another two nights and stayed at St Regis. The design of the hotel is wonderful and location facing Potala Palace is superb. They have the bar on the 6th floor with beautiful views of Potala Palace which is excellent during the day and even... More

Before going to Tibet I read the mixed hotel reviews with uncertainty. Having returned, I am so glad I chose to stay at the St. Regis in Lhasa. The stunning architecture and luxurious accommodations seemed to fit perfectly into the environment, although I suppose that is often a hallmark of St. Regis properties. Some complained here of some of the... More

We did not love staying at this hotel. Here are the negatives -finding your room is a maze and kind of creepy -the hotel felt empty when were there, all rooms and restaurants were empty. Could just be because of the off season but it was still creepy. They also for whatever reason put us in the farthest away room... More

At first glance when arriving the facility looks very good. Rooms are large, clean, quiet and modern. Location is great. Routine housekeeping is very good. First clue that there could be challenges is when a bellman got confused trying to show us to our room. At one point he told us to "go ahead" even though we had no idea... More

On first sight you would have no qualm to give this hotel the high ratings that it deserves. But as you trump around and settle down you start to notice details. Have to think of it this way - The place very much meets the St Regis brand, however, because it is run in Tibet, the local/cultural standards may not... More

We understand that this is either the best or the second best hotel available in Lhasa, but if that weren't the case, I probably would not recommend it. While the hotel is large and the rooms spacious and mostly modern, there were some issues. With respect to the rooms themselves, they are a little run-down in spots (which is surprising,... More
