We used this hotel often in the past years. They have many rooms and different room types. It is just beside the east Beijing Road, quite close to the Ramche, Tibetan walking street and also close to Jokhang Temple, Barkhor square. It is very convenient to walk around from hotel. More over they have a big courtyard to park tour... More

If i compare this hotel to the rest of the world, i would just put average rating. But this is Tibet, a so called 4 star hotel is barely 3 star. So if you stay at 3 star hotel , please expect 2 star quality then. The room is fine, heating is definitely working!! Key criteria to stay during winter.... More

As far as other stays in Tibet have gone, this was the most luxurious. However, we had the room beside reception which was prone to noise from other guest checking in and out at all hours as well as roudy groups having a sing along in the foyer late at night. The breakfast supplied was very good with a great... More

I booked a 9-days trip to Tibet with Ctrip tour agency, the whole trip was poor organized. - Dirty sink- dirty toilet, it seems that they don't use detergent at all. -Hair inside the shower. -Power cut during i was in the shower - Flies in the room. -Dangerous broken switches in the bathroom! -Dirty towels, it seems that they... Stayed 2 nights in this hotel. Bed was alittle on the hard side but comfortable for Chinese standards. Room were clean and shower facilities were great. Wifi connection were stable. Outlook of the hotel looks more like hostel with many tibetan flags hanging across the sky to the other side of the building. Hotel lobby is decorated in tibetan style,... More

The hotel was not a 4 star even for Tibet, maybe a very low 3 star. They do have two towers and we were suppose to be in the better one but who knows. The room was only surface clean the carpet was disgusting and never was vacuumed for all the time we were there. The showers were suppose to... More

The hotel is adequate and comfortable, though the beds are a bit hard. It looked a lot better when we went back after spending some time outside of Lhasa. The duvets are nice though the wifi is very slow. The location is wonderful and the staff are friendly and the breakfast is good. The medical centre in the lobby was... More

Positives: location; non smoking rooms Negatives: the bed was hard Hard HARD — virtually no sleep the first night despite two sleepless nights on trains beforehand, next two nights used duvets as extra padding Breakfast was a joke — needed an early start first day so arrived about 7:35, seems no one bothered to tell the kitchen staff breakfast was... This hotel have fairly good location and comfortable rooms, rated as 4 star and good breakfast. there are two different build in the hotel, so building A is better than B, and the cost is also higher too.

I give the Gangjiang (spelling used by the hotel) high marks for having reliable hot water, reasonably clean rooms (they sweep the carpets, not vacuum) with all the basic things functioning. The main advantage is that no rooms face the noisy main street, even though the location is right in the old town. We stayed here two times, each for... More
