The room I stayed in was cluttered with an unnecessary desk and chair near the window and an armchair. I stayed two nights early in May and this is what I remember the most. I think the staff here try harder than many Chinese hotels. The buffet breakfast for about 48 RMB was pretty good. The bar-nightclub-restaurant 1912 district is just... More

Spend enough time in China, and you will realize how this hotel is a total gem. The price is unbeatable, the rooms are clean, the cleaning staff is very hardworking. We have stayed here for years. There is also a new subway line opening up just steps from the hotel in August 2014 which will be AMAZING!! Rooms: Clean, large,... More

Change my view upon the standard of China hotels. It is very clean, bed is comfortable, not as the usual hard and flat kind that I expected. With cable TV channels and other necessary amenities except for no swimming pool. Responded quickly to queries and requests. The only thing that needs improvement is the Recep staff should have more smile... More

I will definitely stay here when I return to Nanjing. Clean, comfortable and in a great location (walking distance from 1912). We were served tea and snacks in our room upon our arrival and the concierge let us have a very early check in and late check out which was a pleasant surprise.

We stayed here because it was the only room we could find that was both affordable and available at zero notice. We were quite worried about the decision since the reviewer below seemed to have a had such a bad experience, but were happy to discover that it was totally fine... more than fine, it was actually good!

Nice hotel, nice rooms. A normal Chinese hotel, but the rooms are a little better than most. Don't expect too much English skills from the employees late in the evening. Decent breakfast buffet with a good coffee. Toast, yoghurt, juice and a lot of soups, fried eggs and dumplings. I tried the "fitness room" once, but went out after I... More

Eastern Pearl Hotel is conveniently located for sight seeing, eating and shopping. You can ask for a map at the front and go to Jiming Temple (10 minute walk) and then walk to Xuanwu Lake and its park (another 10 minutes). Paying 18 RMB is worth to enter the Wall to get panorama view of Nanjing. Seeing Presidential Palace (Must... More

This place was alright. I thought our room was pretty good for what we paid (about 400 rmb) - spacious with a queen-sized bed (soft mattress), sitting area, desk and built-in-robe. Chinese TV only (boo), but on the upside, free tea and coffee and instant noodles. You also get a bathrobe, room safe and the usual cheapo toiletries. Everything was... More

Eastern Pearl is located in a district full of places to eat and shop. For me there was a Starbucks very near the hotel for that morning cup of coffee. The hotel itself had a decent buffet breakfast and the staff were usually quite helpful though English was not by all of the staff. Nanjing is an interesting city
