My wife and I stayed at this hotel for an adoption. The room was a very good size and modern. The service was good in the hotel, but not in the the restaurant. For some reason at the (smoky) restaurant, they seemed to serve the Chinese much, much faster than the Americans. The rug in our room was stained and... more

Only stayed for two nights, as part of a tour - not sure on value for money, probably good. As others have said, a convenient location in the heart of everything. The first room had an overwhelming smell of smoke, but we were relocated immediately on enquiring about a change. Not an exciting view from the room. Air con worked... more

I stayed here for a business trip in Mid September and really enjoyed the hotel. The location is fabulous. Its right next to the walking street. There is a burger king and KFC right next store for those of you who need a break from Chinese food. Also, there is a very cool, open air shopping mall that was kind... more

I stayed at the Mandarin Garden in May for three nights. Although it was advertised as 5-stars establishment, but in reality, it is a definitely 3-stars hotel. I have traveled in china extensively. This hotel, without a doubt, has the worst buffet breakfast. Both the choices and qualities of food were marginal. It has the "refugees camp" atmosphere. I paid... more

The Nanjing Garden Hotel is conveniently located, at about 30metres away from the walking street, and further 20 metres is the jetty for the Nanjing river cruise. There are many shops around hence food is not a problem. There are also Burger King (the one and only i see in China!) as well as Hagen Daaz. The room is big... more

Good Hotel, located close to the touristy Confucious Temple area, so convenient in one aspect and a half hour drive away from Nanjing 1912 and downtown. Stayed in a Suite, Clean spacious Room's but furniture can be improved. Staff friendly, coutreaus and more than willing to help. Most of them spoke good english. Breakfast was good, mix of continental and... more

I was there in April 2007. Room OK, but bad service in the restaurant: you can't leave one moment your glass or your fork otherwise a waitress come like a hawk and pick it up away. You cannot have a relaxed lunch that way. more

I was pleasantly surprised by the Mandarin Garden Hotel. The rooms were large and very clean, and the bed was a true king-sized bed, not two single beds pushed together like in most Chinese hotels. The bed was actually rather soft as well, in terms of Chinese standards. The pillows were also great, and the hotel offered english HBO and... more

I had great service at this hotel. Our room was huge with a split shower/tub bathroom. We were in the heart of the shops, canal area, restaurants, nearby convenience store... Comfortable room, decent food, friendly workers who speak English - and usually are welcome to practicing English in conversation. The room safe broke one night, but they sent someone up... more
