My son had a reservation here but I messed up his flight tickets from Chengdu to Shenzen so had to phone the hotel to advise them of late arrival. I spoke to Wilson, Tommy's son and he was so helpful with directions and advice. He offered to collect my son from the taxi rank at the World Trade Centre and... more

In the great location of Causeway Bay, Alisan Guest House was the cheapest accommodation we could find on Hong Kong Island as Hong Kong doesn't really have hostels and cheap accommodation for backpackers. I made my reservation easily by emailing the hostel and the owner, Tommy, was very helpful and cooperative. Once we had booked our stay he sent us... more

I don't know how anyone could recommend this place, it has to be the worst place I have ever stayed in my life and I have stayed in lots of dodgy places. The bed was plastic, the street is full of dog shops, so when one dog barks the whole place barks, the AC did not work. I do not know... more

I stayed here for 4 nights with my boyfriend. The owner has 3 separate apartments in the building with rooms for rent. We stayed in an apartment on level 4. The rooms are small, but you get a chance to live like a local. The location is fantastic and the main reason why we chose this guest house. The area... more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 15 nights. It's really tiny and we had to place our luggage under the beds so that we could walk around the room. However, it is HK ( like some of the other reviews said ) and space is very limited. Just try eating where the locals eat - they stuff 7 -... more

I had read many reviews on Alisan that suggested it was not a luxerious experience but safe and clean...this was not my experience at all! I was walked down a dark alley and after a security code gate was let into a dingy dark building with serious grime. The room was ridiculously hot the shower was just a spray hose... more

Of course it's small... you're in Hong Kong! Even luxury hotel rooms are pretty miniature in this city. The rooms are actually not *that* small when you put them in the HK context anyway, and - more to the point - they're very clean, secure and (as long as you book one with a window) quite pleasant. the bathrooms are... more

We had 3 nights in the Alisan at either end of our round trip of Asia. The first time there were three of us and we stayed in the triple room. Yes it was small. Very small. But it was clean, safe and in a fantastic location. Yes I had to side step to get into the bathroom/shower but it... more

Upon arrival, the three person hotel room we were promised ended up being about the size of a walk-in closet, a cramped size that was not reflected in the exorbitant price. We have been staying in guest houses and hostels like this all over Asia, and this was by far the worst. It did not feel clean, everything felt old... more

Well I wasnt expecting much from reading the reviews, but the room was half decent size (was a single room) shower was above toilet, but was ok. No window in the room. Its ok for a short stay (2 nights), but any longer and I would of had to pay alittle more and got a better room. But the owner... more
