The staff have very poor command of English. The rooms are half the size of that advertised on the internet. We upgraded to a suite (paying HK$1650 for the privilege) only to find that the supposed 420 sq ft suite was actually 225 st ft (I actually measured it) with such a small bathroom that the door was half the... We stayed here for three nights this week as part of our 30th wedding anniversary around the world tour. It's a lovely hotel with friendly and very helpful staff. We arrived very early and staff were quick to find us an early check in with no problem. The location is perfect for all of central Hong Kong and is surounded... More

Friendly, attentive staff always had a smile for us. Easy walks to Mt. Victoria with stunning views, the HK city park with their incredible enclosed aviary, water features, and plant conservatory, the subway/trollies (very inexpensive to use!), water ferries, restaurants, small shops and large malls, open markets. The hotel staff made our first trip to HK a memorable one. The... More

Lan Kwai Fong Hotel is located the heart of HKG island. Walking distance to all attraction centers and public transportaion. All staff is very freindly and helpful. Rooms are nice decorated, clean and comfortable. 4th floor is a lovely open customer area for smoking and spending time. Tea, coffee, water, newspapers and internet from the hotel. :). The hotel is in a good location, close to everything in Central. The rooms are small and functional, the bathroom would benefit from a proper door (for some privacy when you stay with someone). Great perk is the free mobile phone with unlimited internet during the stay. Good selection and tasty breakfast buffet.

“Nice hotel, great location!” We had a lovely room with a view of the harbour which was fantastic! There was some building work going on near the hotel which was quite noisy, but I guess this cant be helped. The hotel provides guests with a smart phone for use during their stay which was so useful! In addition to being... More

The hotel has a great location when you come for some quick business around Central, it is super close to LKF. Tons of places to eat, party and shop around, easy to get a cab, 2 metro stations are very close by. The room was surprisingly spacious for Hong Kong, even had a small hall and a balcony. We were... The hotel is in a great location in Lan Kwai F ong. The rooms are clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The staff is very helpful. The 4th floor lounge is a nice place to start the day with a cup of coffee! I would definitely stay again.

Second visit to Lane Kwai Fong hotel, neither by choice. My work automatically book this hotel due to proximity to our office. It is very well located off Wellington street and is close to Central. The hotel is still dated and hasn't changed at all since my last review in 2013. The facilities are small and the bar is not... More

Stopped en route to China and en route back home. Very friendly greeting on reception and throughout both stays. The rooms are quite small but perfectly adequate and good comfortable beds. I stayed in a harbour view room. The view is obstructed so don't think it's quite as the website suggests. Nevertheless it's better than the view on the opposite... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighborhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
