Great location, off main road with 1/2 block access to subway. Boutique style hotel with modern decor, but room size is small. Less service than larger hotels, but seem to be favorite among business travelers. Walk to Convention Center. Good fun area!

After visiting The Fleming Hotel with a group of friends en route to golf in China, I must say that the place is still super. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was an issue. The location is perfect for touring in and around Hong Kong, and there are enough bars and restaurants in the area to satisfy most appetites.... More

I spend a lot of time in Hong Kong and travel here regularly, (about once a month at present), and I always try a different hotel, (see my other reviews), which are often in Wan Chai as I like the location for ease of access to the MTR and the Trams and it's also good for restaurants and bars. For... More

If you are looking for a convenient Hotel that is only like a 8 minute walk to the convention center you might want to consider this Hotel for you Hong Kong Trip. Although the Hotel is dated it is comfortable. I stayed in one of their delux rooms and I would strongly suggest you ask for non smoking as they... More

Friendly and helpful staff. What a great idea to have two hour complimentary wine in the hotel reception, great for meeting people. Breakfast was of a good standard. Would stay here again for sure! Close to bars but far enough away from the bustle of Wan Chai

I stayed here recently on a business trip - overall it is good value for money and in a convenient part Wan Chai. The rooms are well maintained if a little basic. The layout is quite poor though so there is a lot of wasted space because of the poor design and floor plan. Having booked a non-smoking room I... More

I have been staying in this hotel for 2 days for leisure and that would be one of the best in HK in terms of service. Located at Wan Chai, it is easy to access to Causeway Bay and Central by MTR (5 mins walk to A1 Exit) or tram, and Tsim Sha Tsui by Star Ferry. Local restaurants can... More

PROS: 1. Service was excellent: friendly & attentive – before I left for the trip, I had a few queries on their bookings and invoices and they replied immediately. They had good coordination between their on-site staff and sales team, so the receptionist himself was knowledgeable on the booking issues I had voiced out on email when I arrived and... More

Large rooms is a luxury in HK and this hotel has it. We stayed in a 25 sq.m room with a modern bathroom. Everything was clean and well maintained. The safe was blocked but technician came within minutes and fixed it. Bed was firm and very clean. Breakfast selection was a bit limited but OK. Check in and out went... More

I came to HK for a conference at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibit Center in Wanchai. In the past, I've stayed in Sheung Wan or Tsim Sha Tsui and this is the first time I have stayed in what is probably considered Hong Kong's 'redlight' district. First, the area isn't seedy at all. The Fleming is nicely situated near... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
