The first thing that will strike you about Two Macdonnell Road is the location. About 5 mins walking distance from Central, these serviced apartments are fairly popular with those on business trips or longer term stays with work in the HK main island. I stayed at this property for 4 months as a part of my move to Hong Kong.... More

We love 2 macdonnell road. Friendly staff, good food, clean rooms, great location. They have shuttles which leave on time. Very convenient. Definitely one of my favorite places to stay when I'm in HK.

A DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE. Despite paying fully in advance for an eighteeen night stay, I was exposed to a wide range of bedbug/flea bites combined with totally disinterested. This resulted in my being treated by a leading hong Kong physician, including medication at my own expense. Subsequent written complaint to the general manager resulted in a frosty communication that informed me... More

Two MacDonnell Road is a high rise in an excellent mid-level residential area just off Cotton Tree Drive. It is a brisk downhill walk 10-15 minutes to Bank of China, Cheung Kong Center, Hong Kong Bank and oh, the American Consulate, a good morning exercise before it gets hot. You can walk through the Zoological Gardens on the way down... More

Stayed in a family suite. 3 adults and 2 children, aged 4 and 8. Master bedroom had a big bed but the other bedroom had a smaller bed. Had an option to put a rollaway bed but chargeable. Nice view from the smaller room though. We reached at 7am and service was great, they had everything ready for us by... More

The positives: larger size as compared to a similarly priced hotel, reasonable location (can walk down to Central), supermarket next door, reasonably priced laundry and well priced food. Reliable shuttle service. Good quality furnishings/fittings. Helpful/cheerful Concierge. The negatives: As it is on a hill, difficult to walk up and hence one needs to either depend on 2 bus services (1A... More

This is my third stay at this property and some of the staff recognised me and were very friendly. This is however the first time I am staying here during winter. It was exceptionally cold in the room. Icy draught kept seeping into the room. Very few hotels in HK has a heater and this hotel definitely needs it! The... More

I stayed in 2 Macdonnell Road in December 2013. The serviced apartments are a reasonable size (I had a junior suite) which by HK standards was average. The cooking facilities are good and there is a supermarket just across the road under the YMCA. On one side you can walk through the Botannical Gardens, the other walk down through Hong... More

I lived at Two MacDonnell Road for 4 months - it was chosen by my company and was only about an 8-minute walk from my office and maybe 12 minutes from the main part of Central. The location is really nice (and apparently MacDonnell road is a 'prestigious address' in Hong Kong), taking the longer walk down MacDonnell Road in... More

This review is relevant only for the Coffee Shop at 2 Macdonnel Road. We stepped into the cafe at about 7.30 pm for dinner. We had ordered the Fillet of Sole & Nasi Goreng, the service was pretty fast & food was tasty. However, from 8.15pm, after a few minutes of getting our dinner, we were asked to "Hurry up"... More

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
