Rainbow Hotel is very new and it is located in Jordan, Kowloon side of HK. It is well suited for practical travelers who's staying in Hong Kong for a short visit. Although there's not much amenities and recreational facilities offered, our short stay was comfortable and relaxing. Rooms with 1-Queen bed is limited compared to rooms with 2 twin-beds, so... We asked for another pillow as they are quite soft. Had to ask twice but no big deal. Very helpful and friendly staff. There are... More

In case jetlag doesn’t affect you, lucky you ! As for me, it does when arriving from Europe to Asia, and it does even pretty badly ! So, on that night, after an afternoon arrival in Hong-Kong and early diner with customers, I found myself miraculously ready for a good night sleep whereas it usually takes me a good week... More

Hotel Rainbow's location was very central, located a 10 minute distance from some very great shopping malls and a 5 minute walk to the MTR. However, despite the good location, I would not really recommend this hotel to English-Speaking tourists, as the staff members did not communicate English very well. The hotel does not have room service, despite having a... More

This hotel is very central for getting to the various markets. Situated very close to Jordan MTR. The hotel rooms were reasonably sized. The beds were a little hard, but overall comfortable. The only downfall would be the breakfast. If you are a bacon & egg person, then that's fine. For vegetarians or people health conscious, there are no choices.... More

I agree with the reviewers who liked the convenient location Our room was spotless and very modern and the amenities including even slippers, notepads and pens were reliably replaced / topped-up daily. Samuel at Reception was very kind and helpful - he went to University in Edinburgh.

Last December 2014 I brought my family of 7 in Hongkong and I booked this hotel. 1st impression: They are a presentable and clean hotel. Of all the hotels i have been in Hongkong except of course on 5-star ones that i have been into their suites, this hotel is the best for Hongkong Travellers & Frequenters. They are economical... Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
