The hotel is set up very different than your typical hotel. They aren't equipped with a front door drop off area so with the rules of Hong Kong, you get dropped off on the opposite side if the street and cross the road over. Not convenient but not a hassle either. The front staff is very nice and polite, helpful... More

I stayed before in that place when it was called the Jia Hotel, some years ago. The name changed, but it is exactly the same place. Same design, same rooms, same concept. My go to place in HK (Lanson Place) was full so I decided to give it a try. The rooms are small (compare to other boutique hotels in... More

Long story short: Would i stay here again? No, I wouldn't. Why you ask: 1. Starting to show signs of age in the rooms. 2. The shower wasn't able to keep a constant temperature. We all know the annoyance of a shower that cannot keep a constant temperature. 3. Room cleanliness. Not great, not bad. Just average. Compared to my... More

The decor here is quite unique but the rooms are functional. Like a lot of Asian hotels, the beds are quite hard and the air-con units can be a bit noisy but we certainly managed to get a reasonable sleep - all the more remarkable because this is an area that's never what you'd call quiet. It's an easy walk... More

J Plus Hotel is situated within walking distance to Causeway Bay MTR / SOGO / Times Square. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious compared to other hotels. The free use of handphone was good. The free flow of tea, coffee and juice ws a bonus. Red and white wine were served from 6-8pm. Bed is too hard... More

The hotel is beautifully designed, the studio rooms are comfortable and functional. The hotel provides each room with a smart phone where you can look up tourist information, make local calls and some international calls for free such as France and Singapore. The staff were very accommodating and knowledgable on local information.

Well, I liked this small, trendy hotel 5 minutes walk from Causeway Bay MTR. The staff were really helpful and professional. They provide a (rather thin) breakfast for free; 24 hour coffee; free wine (sans nibbles - which is a sin by omission) 6-8; and have a library of DVDs to watch in your room. There is a good Japanese... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
