Perfect place to base yourself for a few days of exploring Hong Kong. It is the usual Ibis formula which is not anything flash but works very well to give you a comfortable stay. Upgrade to harbour-side views which are wonderful to wake up to and provide a peaceful view during the day. The hotel is around 5 minutes walk... More

We stayed three nights in this convenient hotel on Hong Kong Island. The room was clean and comfortable; the staff friendly and accommodating. The free hotel shuttle meant we didn't have to lug luggage to to airport station and the Starbucks downstairs was handy for the picky eater amongst us. All in all, great location, nice place to relax.

A typically good value Ibis, firm beds, not too cramped, has tea/coffee making facilities and a small fridge. No milk supplied, this can be bought at a Wellcome Grocery store nearby. The hotel location is interesting in an area of Hong Kong where tourists can see the working, trading and every day living of Hong Kong Island residents.

We booked this hotel since we are Accor members. I really liked the location of this hotel. Rooms were clean, nice and colourful. Party places Soho and LKF were nearby. Food at the hotel was average but Hongkong is full of options.

The location of this hotel was very good, arriving by train from the airport we took the free shuttle bus to the doorstep of the hotel. Check-in was efficient and staff very friendly and accommodating. Requested baby-cot appeared almost as we entered the room. There is a smaller restaurant/bar adjacent to the check-in area. Rooms are as per Hong Kong... More

My family of 8 adults and 2 children stayed for four nights in this hotel. Staff accommodated our request for adjoining rooms. Rooms are clean, breakfast is ok. It is a bit far from MTR but within walking distance. I prefer Ibis hotels because they don't have carpets; I have allergic rhinitis and I have a problem w severe nasal... More

Stayed two nights at IBIS Central and Sheung Wan. Great location - within walking distance from downtown area (Central, Star Ferry pier, etc) but in a quiet neibourhood away from the hustle bustle. Helpful and efficient staff - check-in/check-out took a minute each. Best thing about this hotel was its view. It was delightful to wake up each morning to... More

Good Points: Located in the Central city. Harbor view is fantastic. Bad Points : If you want to claim Le Club points, please don't book the hotel room via agent. IBIS is not flexible at all. Refund Policy is horrible even before 72 Hours.

I have been to Hong Kong many times and my preference is always Hong Kong Island. The Ibis Sheung wan is not by any means 5 star luxury, however the rooms are clean, modern and reasonable size compared to other hk hotels. The location is right in the middle of the "older" local part. Dried seafood streets are at your... More

Dear bethanylou, Thank you for adding this comprehensive review about your last stay at ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan Hotel. Besides the convenient location, I would recommend you to try a very popular Chinese dim sum restaurant, Lin Heung Kui, nearby with 5 mins walk. Also, there are many eateries on Hollywood Road is just 10 mins away... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighborhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
