The Good: -As you can see from basically every review, the location of this hostel is outstanding. -The service wasn't bad at all. The staff spoke English and weren't overly friendly but were professional and nice enough. This place is (as far as I can tell) the most affordable in town-people that decide to stay and expect a Western style... More

This was my first trip to Hong Kong and I loved it. Amy was very helpful and always had a smile on her face. My friend and I enjoyed the hospitality and the location of the hostel was great for easy access to the trains and sites. The beds were comfortable. I think it could be renovated a bit, but... More

I don't know why people are giving this place bad reviews. Friendly, 24-hour staff, free WiFi and big rooms. Beds were a little squeaky, but that's not a big deal considering it's a hostel. The only weird thing was the shower was built into the same space as the toilet, so every time someone used the shower, the toilet got... More

This hostel is place where i stay for sevetal times in hongkong. the hostel had many units and rooms in the patterson Building. You can find many budget travellers from arround the world. The room is very compact (if can't say small) But it's enough if just for shower and sleep. They provide free tea and coffe at breakfast time... More

This has to be the worst possible hostel in Hong Kong. They get your check in date right, they anyhow put u u. Any old crappy room they can find. Their staff are terrible. They wash their bed sheets and doesn't even have proper laundry room to dry them out, and are hung all over the place, places like the... More

We called and booked days before. We were told to come at 2 o'clock to get sign in. At 1:45 we got there they told us everything we spoke about on the phone was wrong. Then proceeded to do the Asian thing of not seeing us as they went about their day placing other people in the room we just... More

I went to Hongkong on March 8th with 4 of my friends. We stayed in this hostel. I like the location because its basically in the middle of city or you could say downtown. Near malls, public transports, and restaurants. If you love shopping, this location is perfect. But that's all that worth it. The service is very poor. We... More

The place is nice and clean, and the location is great. As far as we knew one of the cheapest in the area. The rooms are basic but clean and comfy. But the location is perfect! The cheapest place in the area. As this was our first time to Hong Kong the staff where very helpful and friendly helping us... More

Causeway Bay seems, overall, like a ritzy shopping district (I have not seen much of Hong Kong though but it is definitely a nice area). My main goal for sightseeing was the Tian Tan Buddha and Tai O, and the commute over there took much less time than expected! The hostel itself is clean and comfortable; I stayed in a... More

We stayed for 2 nights in November in a double room with an ensuite. We were mostly pleased with our stay. The room was clean. It is small, as others have stated, but we were okay. There was a good A/C unit. There was hot water. The TV didn't work, but we weren't in the room much anyways. There's free... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
