I travelled to HK on my own and booked this hostel for 3 nights, based on other reviews from women in similar circumstances. I had to ask for directions once, but it was easy enough to find. It's very central but quiet so perfect for a few days of exploring the city! I was in a female dorm and met... More

This hostel was good value given its central location. The staff was very helpful and the room comfortable and clean. Our private room was in the building directly opposite from the hostel which was slightly annoying when doing laundry (and the dryer doesn't work very well) but other than that it's a great place.

What's good... 1. Big room and bathroom - The 9-bed mixed dorm I stayed was 30 sq m, ridiculously big by Hong Kong's standard if you can ignore the space per person. Usually few people are inside the room during daytime so you actually get to enjoy a lot more space. 2. Very clean and new. 3. Good location -... More

This is the best place I've stayed sp far on my travels. Friendly staff, good kitchen with free tea/coffee, clean, affordable, very central in HK and easy to find. The rooftop terrace is great and a very sociable area. Although I was in a dorm of 9 I found it surprisingly spacious, not too noisy and was cleaned every day.

I left very happy with my stay here. The check-in process was smooth and the rooms were spacious with decent sized electronic lockers. The bathrooms were clean too but the only downside I saw were the lowest bunks in a 8/9 bed dorm. My friend got one of those and he found it uncomfortable since it was basically just a... More

I stayed here for one night. For the price this place is quite great to stay at. My favorite is the rooftop garden area. Great place to hangout with a lot of people. Highly recommend this place if you're on a budget.

Its reasonably a good place to live in the middle of the city. Rates are quite nominal and the staff is quite helpful. Nice kitchen. Free WiFi and free tea coffee. 2 min walk to MTR and Tram. So thumbs up !

This hostel had such an odd atmosphere (when we arrived loads of people were all sitting in reception not talking!) and our room was about the size of a box. We felt ripped off as we paid more for it than anywhere else on our trip. We couldn't wait to leave. Stay elsewhere.

Wow, I did not expect such comfort and affordability this close to the center of Hong Kong. I stayed in a 9-bed dorm and my ONLY complaint is that it was a little toasty in there. Very comfortable beds, big lockers, free WiFi, well laid out, in-room bathroom/shower. No complaints whatsoever. Definitely worth a stay!

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
