Shamrock is one of my favorite hotels in HK primarily because of its location. It's beside Jordan MTR station so I can practically go to anywhere in HK easily; walking distance to shopping areas & some tourist attractions; & there's a lot of restaurants/food shops & convenience stores in the vicinity. Airport bus stop is also just across the street.... More

Spent 1 night at this location. The Shamrock hotel choose was based on location/price considerations and would like to say it was right choice. Just couple of minutes to get to the MTR Jordan station, close to the Jordan road (not expensive way to the Airport by A22 or even cheaper E23 buses) and all main Kowloon places are quite... More

The Shamrock is a great hotel. Staff were courteous and helpful. Everyone was very professional. The location right next to the public transit was great! Three of us shared a room with two double beds and had plenty of space. Our room was very clean and nice.

The hotel is well situated on Nathan rd and is about 20 min walk to the ferry terminal,3 minute walk to the temple st markets. The rooms are clean , a little small. The breakfast included is a little limited ,and has a heavy Asian influence. Paying a half day extra for a late (6pm) check out will not get... More

It is a great recommendation from Tripadvisor as per rating as I booked 2 standard room for a twin and double bedroom at 3rd floor (which is a non-smoking floor). We stayed 4 nights and targeting Disneyland where MTR is conveniently reachable when travelling with kids and elderly. Here is my review on Shamrock Hotel: - Hotel Environment: The Jordan... More

I have been staying at Shamrock Hotel for the past several trips because they have been able to offer me good reasonable rates. Daily buffet breakfast is basic but enough to fill your appetite. The fact they change some of the dishes is a plus. Service has always been efficient. Check In and Check Out always a breeze if you... More

Would like to give special commendation to JOE, Bell Captain at Shamrock. He makes every guest feel very personable, warm and welxome. A vast difference between his service and other floor staff. Hotel's location is perfect. Good walking distance from Jordan MTR (45 seconds), Temple Street, and many other yummy street delights! Nothing fancy in the hotel and all the... More

The hotel was in the perfect spot. Lots of restaurants and shops around. The room is a bit small but it is clean and adequate for short stay. The bathroom was very clean. I will choose this hotel when I come back to Hong Kong again.

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
