I came to Hong Kong for a visa run/mini vacation. From the helpful hotel staff to the clean and good-sized room, my stay at the Empire Hotel was exceptional! I was on the 17th floor, which I think has renovated rooms (I put in a request for a newer room at time of booking). The staff accommodated every request I... More

I recently travelled to Hong Kong on a business trip and stayed at Empire Hotel, Wan Chai for 3N. The hotel staff are very friendly and the property also looks quite new and well maintained. I came in a little early and had to directly head to the conference area in HKCEC and the staff members were quick to assist... More

The location of the hotel is good, however I didn't like the smell in the bathroom and the bathroom itself. Bathtub seemed to be quite old. During my travel I stayed in three different hotels, Empire Hotel is in the last place. Hotel's staff was very nice to everyone.

From the time we arrived to the time we left we felt nothing but welcome. From the man at the door to reception to the room attendants everyone was just wonderful. On day 2 of our stay I had an issue with the wifi and the lady and man on reception ( wish I had taken note of their name)... More

I was recently here for business and was reluctant to change from my usual though a friend booked it for me and I am grateful. It is central to everything and food and bars are everywhere as well as shopping. A taxi ride from here is usually $20- $30 Hong Kong dollars to all the great spots. Internet was good... More

Plenty of good resturants on Lockhart Road.. Its a busy hotel for check in wait time is sometime long. The only complaint I have is the WIFi..... More

Room is okie based on Hong Kong standard. Facility is also ok. What I am unhappy about is the air con system. Do not know how long the hotel has not purified the air. It smells moudly in my floor. It is also a bit far from the MTR station. Clearly, there are hotels with better location with similar prices.... More

Hotel is in decent location, walking distance to Wan Chai. Rooms are clean and smaller than average, but I thing it is a standard across Hongkong. Stayed in February - room heating was not sufficient enough, had to request a portable heater.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
