we have a generally good stay in this hotel. The price is not cheap however, this is not something unusual in HK. The location of the hotel is good and MTR station is just nearby. One downside of the hotel is the soundproof of the hotel isn't great... and we can hear the guests upstairs singing and clapping and partying... More

I had to make a short visit on business and as usual opted for The Empire Wan Chai, which is unbeatable on location, value for money and service. What is new this time was a cool smartphone that is kept in the room and which can be used by guests while they are staying at the hotel. All local calls... More

All the rooms are small. But it is normal in Hong Kong. Breeakfast was not so bad. But hotel has a big problem with hygiene. All my towels were looks dirty or have hair on somewhere. You should bring your towel. Free wifi was good.

I found the Empire fabulous and the best part were the staff, with a special mention to Kamen the Ops Manager, and I can't remember the other gentlemans name at reception maybe John or Paul, they actually made my friend and myself feel like royalty, we were upgraded because of a slight mix up and given a free airport limo... Stayed at Empire Wan Chai for a couple of nights in March 2015. The rooms are very small, but this is common for many of HK hotels. Good location, but we really suffered from the poor sound isolation, the hotel is located between two busy streets and the noise from the traffic is horrendous, I never have problem sleeping in... Really good, excellent hotel at a budget rate. It is in the route of the free shuttle from Hong Kong station - where you arrive from the airport - for 80 HK$. It takes 24 minutes from the airport to the HK station in Wanchai, then you take the free shuttle and it takes 15 minutes to arrive to the... More

This is a good hotel. Clean, great value, great location with easy access to subway, trams, buses and ferries. The staff were especially friendly and helpful. There was some street noise, but, hey, this is Hong Kong. If you want a quiet holiday go to the Maldives.

Let start with the positive things: Hotel is located near Wan Chai metro station. And close to all the 'famous' pubs and clubs of the Wan Chair nightlife. Although its near the pubs, I had no problems with the level of noise and did have a good sleep during the night Back to the negative things: The room looked very... More

Spacious room overlooking the avenue. Clean, King size bed, non-smoking Toilet Products Available. Safe available Employees cold and unsympathetic (no smiles) I Ask a surprise in the room because my wife was made 40 years and the hotel forgot it.. Central: Close to transportation (Bus / Metro), supermarket / coffees, etc .. With free Internet Breakfast buffet with lots of... More

A very average hotel in a great location. A 3* at best and this is awarded as the location is great. The hotel itself is run down, smelly and poorly ventilated. I asked for a quite room and was woken up all nights long due to traffic and house guests. Wear your shoes as the carpet should have been replaced... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
