This hotel was the best deal we could find for a room with a proper window on Hong Kong island (we visited for a week in June of 2015). The property is really old and the rooms show the age, but do not lack the charm that comes with it. Beware of the professional room photos - they make the... More

My friend and I were pleasantly surprised by the quaint and very clean look of the hotel. It was an undeniable bargain, considering how nice the stay was compared to the amount of money we paid for the room. When we first got to HK, we didn't know much about the ground transportation, so we ended up walking with our... More

I stayed at The Emperor Happy Valley for 10 nights in August 2014. Room was small, but cozy with all amenities a 3* hotel should have. It is clean, has a good bed, nice bath/shower and the aircon was functioning well. It is situated in a quiet area, with lots of neighborhood shops and restaurants, just minutes away from the... I stayed in the Emperor Happy Valley last year. Unfortunately I have only just been able to get round to writing a review. Location wise, it is a bit out of the way. There is no MTR close so it it requires at least a 20 minute walk to Causeway Bay station or similar to Wan Chai. The hotel is... More

My home was undergone renovation so my elder parents have a long stayed there, from May 10 - June 1. During the stay, the staffs provide hospitality service, such as the coffee shop provides utensils to parents so that sometimes they could buy food from outside and dine in their room. Also, one of the receptionists Philip had assisted my... More

The concierge was really polite, that paired with that of the front desk reception. Everything was good except it was located so far away from the train station. Cleanliness was good but the bed was really hard to sleep on. It might be good for them Chinese but it's definitely not for Westerners. Also, the water pressure from the shower... More

Stayed at Emperor Happy Valley for 3 nights in February 2015, would not recommend this hotel, unless you get a really really good deal. We paid a very good price but were still disappointed with the condition of the rooms, everything is very old, it was very humid in the room and smelled of mould.. The location is very convenient... The hotel is super convenient - it's only one tramway trip away from the main hustle and bustle on Hong Kong Island (Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, Central, North Point, etc). The hotel also runs a shuttle in the morning and afternoon. The rooms are always clean and a decent size (considering it is HK). I always have a good stay... More

This is the latest in a long string of visits at The Emperor (Happy Valley) Hotel and it is still a great place to stay. First of all, location. You need to take into account that those who complain that it is "too far" or "inconveniently located" obviously know little about Hong Kong. If you want drunken brawls, bar hopping,... More
