We were referred to the YMCA Salisbury in Kowloon from family. The location was probably the stand out, it was minutes walk from the Star Ferry (which you will use if you want to go to Victoria Peak) also only a street between the hotel and the waterfront where you can see the avenue of stars and the infamous Symphony... We have stayed here before and recommended to many as the location/view is absolutely perfect, (although prices seemed to have increased quite a lot). This time when we arrived, we were somewhat disappointed that having booked 7 months previously with special requests for double beds and high floor, 2 of the rooms given were twin bedded, (albeit on a high... The Salisbury YMCA, which is to all intents and purposes a very large straightforward and unpretentious hotel, is just perfect as a functional tourist base. The rooms are large, and some have harbour views. There is a ground-floor coffee shop, with something of a university canteen flavour, which provides cheap meals and does the breakfast buffet. There are other restaurants,... More

The YMCA is located next to the Peninsula Hotel near the water front in Kowloon. Just minutes walk from the Star Ferry and MTR TST. We have stayed many many times over the pay 10 years. The rooms are large - unusual in Hong Kong and the hotel is spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly. Book early as the hotel is... More

Stayed here for 2 nights pre cruise. Very clean and quiet. Good location for sight seeing. We had breakfast included which was super, a very good selection of fruits, eggs, cheese, cereals and more. 5 minute walk to ship terminal. 5 Min walk to see laser light show which was great.

Great place to stay walking distance to the MTR and ferry to Hong Kong Island and main shopping. The staff were fantastic and our room was very clean. Breakfast has excellent choices Highly recommend.

We booked a partial harbour view room and requested a late check-out because of an evening flight to Auckland. When we checked in we were given a complimentary upgrade to a suite with a full harbour view, so we were delighted. To my surprise the cost of the room had suddenly rocketed to double what we we were expecting, when... More

I spent so much time trying to find a hotel I was happy with in Hong Kong and finally settled on this one because of its fantastic reviews. I have travelled overseas with my family on many occasions but this was my first independent holiday (I travelled with my boyfriend but he had never been overseas). We didn't want to... More

I had a nice time in this hotel. The rates were affordable and the location was excellent. The bus from the airport leaves you across the street from the hotel. We were three friends in one big room with fantastic views. Spacious and very cleaned. Highly recommended. Breakfast buffet was also very good with many choices.
