It is simply a hotel that does the job. It is not five star hotel but it is a reasonable hotel, close to some interesting areas. It is quite clean, comfy and even provide you a mobile phone during your stay in Hong Kong!

My first trip to Hong Kong, and I was a little apprehensive as I'd heard hotel rooms in general were very small and the service not always good. Well, the Nathan is certainly the exception in this case. After our 14 hour flight, we were ushered into an absolutely beautiful room with a lounge area with a very large TV... More

Clean and good beds, a proper airconditioning and a really clean bathroom. The breakfast has good quality and there is a wide range of foods. The hotel offers mobile phones which you can take away for in the city as a personal 3G hotspot. No need to buy and extra internet subscription.

I've stayed in this hotel every time I go to HK for the past 5- 6 years. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are like family to one another. Room is very spacious. Much bigger than the regular hotel room you will find in HK. It's an older building that's why room is still spacious unlike the newer... More

The location of tue hotel is accessible to alot of places. Such as, the train service, buses, temple street, star avenues, eating places, etc. all within walking distance. A Starbuck at the lobby n a bali style lounge for chilling up. Staff are approachable and friendly. They are able to speak English for those who can't communicate in cantonese or... More

Always been skeptical on room size in local hotels in HKG. First time stayer at Nathan Hotel for 3 nights was truly an unexpected experience. Room was just newly furnished. Was advised this 44yrs old hotel renovates every 4 years. A smartphone for local calls, internet connectivity and free int'al calls to selected countries including SIN was a true pleasant... More

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
