We made a last minute reservation at the Nathan for our 2 night say in Hong Kong and chose it as it was right next to the airport bus stop. Very handy for downtown Kowloon, 2 min walk to the MTR and the airport express bus right outside the door (both directions). We chose the cheapest room which was dated... More

Prices of hotels in Hong Kong fluctuate each day and as soon as I saw a dip in Nathan Hotel's prices, I booked 3 nights through Agoda (US$369.00, inclusive of all charges). Nathan Hotel has a rating of 8, similar to more expensive hotels, but definitely lower prices. We were flying in from Los Angeles and after 14 hours on... More

The Nathan really is an utter delight. My wife and I booked three nights here at the end of a 2 week trip through China. Having had a few mediocre nights in the motherland and having read a few reviews recently posted we were a little concerned, especially as the Chinese star system does not really tally with the European.... Highly recommended place that's just off bustling Nathan Road, close to convenience stores and a few minutes walk to the subway. Only 15-20 min to Tsim Sha Shui waterfront. Arrived early before the stated check-in time - they were kind enough to let me use the shower facilities in the gym (much needed after a 14 hour flight!!) while my... More

Stayed for 3 nights at the 9th floor. Everything was great. Location, service, cleanliness. They provided free use of a handy phone with free calls and 3g for your entire stay. I have to mention also the pillow menu and a stack of instrumental music cd to your liking. Room and lobby (i even noticed an air purifier) smelled clean.... More

We arived 2 hours before check in and they refused to allow us to check in early. The rooms we were allocated were on the 6th floor. It was smelly and damp in the corridor . The bathroom was old, stained, and the drainage system was non existent. Showering in a bathtub that was not draining was disgusting. The shower... More

We stayed for 4 nights in mid-March in a Nathan Grand Room in room 1115; with access to the Nathan Lounge. The Good * the location of the Nathan Hotel is absolutely fantastic. Public transport is readily and easily available. It is a 5 minute walk to Jordan MTR, has easy access to bus stops to all over Kowloon and... More

Spent 3 nights in Room 1210 on Nathan Floor with a view of Nathan Road. Hotel was recommended by our Travel Agent who got a reasonable price via Qantas. Later when our arrival date changed we booked an extra night online and did better. Twin beds were large & comfortable, small bathroom with shower recess (no bath or clothesline), lots... More

Loved this hotel more especially because of its location. The Nathan has great rooms with a private living area, and the great touch was that all rooms get a free cell for the duration of the stay with free data and local calls. Staff at the front desk staff were fantastic - the complimentary breakfast was YUMMY !!!! Not best... More

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
