Stayed at the Nathan Hotel over New Years Eve. We booked a family room for 2 adults 3 teenage children. The room had 2 x Queen beds and 1 x Single bed. Comfortable and spacious, particularly for HK. The hotel itself is fine but quite tired. The bathrooms in particular need a big makeover as do the furniture and fittings.... More

Hotels in Hong Kong are expensive and Nathan Hotel is no exception - unless their room rates are 50% off! Stayed here for 3 nights where our room was upgraded. Pros: - along Nathan Road - near Jordan MTR and Temple St Night Market - walking distance to Tsim Sha Tsui area, Jade Market and Women's Night Market - complimentary... More

Stayed at the Nathan Hotel for 3 nights. Hotel is conveniently located in Kowloon. Is approximately a 25 minute walk to the pier, 10 - 15 minute walk to Temple St Markets, buses located at door, MTR near and many restaurants nearby. Taxi from airport to hotel costs approximately HKD 250.00. We were in room 609. Room was of a... More

Stayed for 3 nights in 2 rooms as we have 4 kids. On check-in staff told us we had been upgraded and now had adjoining rooms, very nice. Unfortunately 1 of the rooms stank of cigarettes even though we were on a non smoking floor. Tried to get changed but was told hotel was full (not such a good upgrade... More

Nathan Hotel Hong Kong Stayed there for four nights on Platinum floor. Endured the coldest day in 30 years of HK history. Here are my reviews of the hotel. The good points: The location. Location is the mean factor when closing a hotel. Nathan Hotel is located along the Jordan stretch of Nathan Road. Very strategic. Wing On Shopping Mall,... More

We found this hotel to be in a great location, with many things do do and see in walking distance. This makes it handy because getting a taxi driver who understands any English is impossible. This hotel has a few staff members that speek great English and this made all the difference to our trip. The staff couldn't do enough.... More

We stayed there for 4 nights in early October 2015. The reception area was small and I was worried. But then the services we received from room and reception staff there were just exceptional. They were very friendly and helpful. The room size was very roomy (Hong Kong standard) and was clean. I used their cellphone which was convenient. Wifi... More

Every time we stayed at Nathan Hotel, we have always got an upgrade - thumbs up to them! We were upgraded this time to a Platinum Grand room on the 14th floor. Room was excellent. Modern, clean, chic and pleasant to stay in. Had a Blu-ray as well and a free smartphone "Handy" to use during your stay. Only complaint... More

Stayed in Nathan for 4 nights. After reading previous trip advisor reviews requested a 'new' room and we were allocated one on 7th floor which was comfortable, spacious and clean. Great shower and nice to see bath also- often missing in hotels. Only negative in room was lack of mirror over dressing table where plug point is for hair dryer... More

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
