The rooms are small but nice and I had a great view of Causeway Bay. MRT is a close walk. Fashion walk shops are beautiful. Hotel has great coffee and food and gym but the rooftop bar is the best experience. Nothing is cheap in Hong Kong with the Aussie Dollar so low but this hotel is relatively good value... More

The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and well maintained. The cafe on the ground floor serves great illy cappuccinos! The breakfast buffet has many delicious choices and the service is very good. You can catch a bus right at the hotel that takes you to the central train station where you can catch the train to... Stayed at The Excelsior for 7 days for a work trip, with the work function being held on site as well. The food quality here is fantastic (the seafood buffet in the main cafe at night a real highlight), and one good thing was that the wifi worked all over the hotel, no matter which part you were in (and... This is an older hotel, but it's well-maintained, has the facilities and staff you need, and as a bonus to us, a rooftop terrace and restaurant with amazing views. My favorite part was to come back from a busy day in a loud city and have a cocktail overlooking the city, mountain, and waterfront. I would probably choose the hotel... More

Perfect location, just a 3 minutes walk from Causeway Bay MTR, with SOGO, Time Square and other shopping Malls and a lot of shops around. There are also lots of options for foods. At the same time the hotel has harbour view and very quiet in the room.

This is a standard business hotel in HK located in Causeway Bay. Location - Causeway Bay which is the primary tourist area. It is a 10 minute cab ride from Central, the business district. The metro station is a 2 minute walk. Plenty of shopping and eating places in the vicinity. Rooms - not very large but then youre in... More

The hotel is in a busy area, shopping, dining etc, close to mrt station and a short cab ride from the Kowloon side. Good egg tarts in the downstairs coffee shop, otherwise nothing unique is worth pointing out.

My daughter and I tagged along with our husband on his business trip and we remorselessly holidayed away while he went into work on the weekdays. It's a good hotel because of the quality of furnishings eg thick walls, better quality marbled bathroom walls (but I must say need some renovating touch ups as some things are starting to look... Amazing Staff and extremely helpful, very well positioned. The Club Lounge offers that little bit extra in service. The hotel is situated close to the convention centre and can you can easily walk this from the hotel. Strongly recommend this hotel for business and pleasure.

Just returned from a five night stay at the Excelsior. I have been to Hong Kong a few times, this is my first time staying at the Excelsior. Checking in was straight froward and the staff speaks good English. The hotel is located in Causeway Bay area, makes it a good base for the stay. Here on business hence didn't... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
