I used to stay here a lot years ago when I first started coming to Hong Kong on businesos and I was all that impressed then. Upon returning to Hong Kong in recent years I stayed at the JW. This time the corporate rate wasn't available so I chose my old friend, the Excelsior. I was pleasantly surprised at the... More

the excelsior has a more traditional room layout, with built in millwork that all focus on the great views out. the bathrooms are old school but clean and very functional. the location is great and in the heart of a shopping area and a reasonable walk to most of the great places in HK. i always stay here.

This is our favorite HK hotel because it is right in the middle of everything. It is easy to get a taxi, bus, tram, or underground train from this hotel which is key. If you love to shop, you can't beat this location. We also like the reasonably priced room service, including excellent Western breakfast and Cantonese dim sum. The... More

An excellent hotel located at Causeway Bay, near shopping belt and many good eateries. Very close to MTR so travelling is convenient and it is a very safe hotel for ladies. The rooms are clean and fairly large; those rooms facing the Victoria Harbour are just fabulous. Excelsior staff are very service oriented, always going the extra mile for the... More

Very good convenient hotel in Causeway Bay. Near to Causeway Metero (Subway station). Victoria Park is just next, good for taking morning walk. Also many shopping places nearby. Good view to HK landscape and sea facing. Got good restaurants like Dickens Bar and best one of Roof Top ToTTs. Good recommended hotel.

Good city centre location and very near a metro station. Rooms are big and clean, albeit a little dated. ours was a harbour view room which was brilliant - amazing views. The restaurants and bar are excellent (although I would say avoid Dickens unless you want to be reminded of your local wetherspoons on FA cup night - it's an... More

The location is very strategic a few minutes walking from Times Square in Causeway Bay area. The concierge was very helpful helping me to activate my new local SIM card. The breakfast was standard but they have a wide range of food from Chinese, American,Japanese and Indian food. The view from my room was looking to the ocean and sky... More

Love the strategic location, close to local store and restaurants by walking distance. Warmth greeting from hotel staff and quite clean room. I just love the shower with good pressure of water and how quick it turns hot.

Very neat and clean hotel. Hospitality was good enough. Need to include few food for Indians too.. So that people like us can stay more days and it continues to next stay. Located near to Island and harbor side.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
