It's a great hotel for its location and ease to commute .the room service is extremely prompt and good. The breakfast is slightly expensive .The concierge also gives a lot of great recommendations for places to visit and eat.

Fairly convenient hotel in Causeway Bay. 10 mins can ride from Central etc. My room was a deluxe harbour view which made for great watching of all the activity but not so idillic as there is so much building work going on. The bar at the top of the hotel is very nice and has great views. One tip is... More

Good location at the heart of causeway bay, close to attractions and shopping. Very traditional Hotel with a long history. My father stayed here back in 70's. Hotel needs to improve room and technical quality of room amenities. Internet seep is slow.

Stayed at the Executive floor, clean and well maintained rooms. Housekeeping, laundry and Front Desk staff very efficient. Dickens Bar staff very friendly and efficient. Didn't have a chance to try out other F&B outlets, but surely will be back to try. Location close to a lot of Shopping Centers and local restaurants which were great! Good Job!

I visited to the Excelsior Hotel sometimes before. The reason is very convenience location for us caused of the same area in our past living place. And the transportation as MTR is quite near from the hotel to the other area in Hong Kong.

I have lived and worked in Hong Kong over past 20 years .. and still book myself into this hotel when on business because of the location. It's not the most amazing decor or right in central .. but if you want to feel like you are really staying in Hong Kong then Excelsior is great. It's right in causeway... More

I have been staying at The Excelsior regularly since 2007. It is a fantastic location easy walking distance to the shopping and restarunats in Causeway Bay, the MTR and a nice view of the harbour from many rooms. But the rooms are well overdue for renovation. Not only do they look dated, they are also getting very worn out. The... More

Located in the central of the Causeway Bay. Can go to grand shopping mall within 1 minute. Convenient to go by MTR, trains and buses. Hotel staff are all helpful and friendly. THe food in 1/F is good and tasty. Beautiful sea view with excellent location.

The Excelsior is ok. Probably better for vacation (due to location) than on business. Facilities are dated. Room smells like cigarette smoke even though it's a non-smoking room. Front desk staff was great. The worst part of my stay was very loud drilling and hammering taking place in the room above in the mid-afternoon when I was trying to work... More

Dear Jreamer, I was concerned to read your comments in regards to the smell of smoke in a non smoking room. We have addressed this with our Executive Housekeeper to prevent it in the future. Looking into the comment on the maintenance work I truly apologize. I can understand the difficulty to work when there is noisy work going on.... More

I had stayed in Excelsior on 4 Business trips now, for roughly 60+ nights across this year. From location standpoint the hotel is really good, right in the commercial hub of HK, facing harbour, and 2 mins walk to MTR. Dickens, the hotel bar/restau. is really good, and almost full all the time with decent food options. The breakfast menu... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
