Recently stayed at The Excelsior for three nights whilst on business. Brought my spouse along as he had not yet visited HK. As hotels go on HK Island, this is a fairly good deal given the extremly inflated real-estate/hotel market, particuarly in Central. A few specifics: The Location: Located across the road from the typhoon shelter (which is currently a... More

The location is a plus point, very accessible. It overlooks a very busy dual carriageway so a room on a higher floor (>15) is essential if you also want the harbour view. Our first room on floor 7 was noisy with traffic all night. The rooms are slightly dated - particularly the bathroom. But for a city centre hotel, acceptable.... More

I was staying here on business. The hotel, the staff and the food were fantastic and the views of Hong Kong incredible! It is perfectly located for all the bars and restaurants. I look forward to a return visit!

This hotel is in Causeway Bay and close to the underground, great shopping and Convention centre. We had a 34th floor room with a stunning view of Hong Kong Harbour. The room was very comfortable and had all amenities including free wifi. The bar and restaurant on the top floor has brilliant views of Hong Kong Harbour and city. We... More

This is not a hotel where the staff will know your name but they will provide a consistent high level of service. The hotel is in an excellent location for both shopping and business . The only thing to watch out for is the long wait for taxis in the morning.

We were booked into this hotel through Gullivers Travels a UK based sports specialist (rugby their big thing) I had stayed here one time before. The room was of a high standard , the buffet breakfast very good.,desk and concierge staff were professional and helpful Dickens pub is on lower ground; unsurprisingly busy during HK7's.It is good rather than great.... The Excelsior is a good choice if you want quality and service, but not the expense and formality of the 5* options in Admiralty and Central. Being one of the older hotels, there is a welcoming atmosphere, and throughout the hotel, the staff cannot be faulted on their attention to detail, courtesy and general professionalism. The Dickens Bar in the... More

We stayed at the excelsior in mid February. You could not be more central. The hotel is on the waterfront, across the road from the "noon day gun". Next door is the world trade centre. The service is first class, never a chance to open a door yourself or carry your luggage. The rooms are spacious, considering the cost of... More

Very well positioned in hong kong, the check in was a bit slow but professional. They tryed to give me a smoking room, thus do not hesitate to confirm this point. Size of room are ok for hong kong, you are close eateries. I would suggest to request a very very high floor lol. The breakfast was good, in the... More

This is my second review on this hotel and have to say it was as good, if not better, second time around. Always worth following up a review if its worthy of it and it is. The rooms are clean and comfortable and all have a/c, tea and coffee facilities and a small fridge. The restaurant on the first floor... More
