even if you are offered this place for free, don't take it as it will spoil your holiday. There are better places in the very same building for the same or lesser price. The room is so small that even by HK standards it is a no no.

Well, we originally booked with New China Yan Yan, but ended up in a different part of the building in a place called New York Guesthouse. I assume that both were owned by the same people. The rooms would be the same. The room had a small fridge and a TV. Beds were pretty hard, as well as the pillows.... More

Location was great, staff were friendly and helpful-especially great if you are a solo female traveller. Close to the MTR station, bus station and star ferry pier and close to the shops :) Room was small and basic but can't complain as was secure and clean. Free wifi, aircon and plenty of hot water. The only thing to mention was... More

Very easy to find in Block E (which after a week of staying here in Chungking Mansions definitely has the shortest lines for the elevators), very friendly staff, we originally booked for two nights and extended our stay to a week. The rooms are small - we had the room closest to the reception area. Double bed, on a frame... More

We stayed here for 3 nights last Apr. 2-5, 2014. It was quite difficult for us to book rooms because we are a group of 13. We separated accommodations, the others stayed in Kyoto Guesthouse while the four of us were here in New China. Since this is Hongkong, expect the guest houses, hostels and inns to be small. We... small room (as expected), but it was nice, with bathroom. close to MTR station, bus stop, star ferry pier, avenue of stars, restaurants, shopping area, etc. Elevator building is very small, often have to queue.

The only problems I found with this property was the fact the downstairs smelled terrible and the elevators can take a while to use and be quite crowded. Also you only get maybe 15 liters of hot water before the water becomes cold. The room is small but any room you get in Hong Kong is going to be small. Even... More

After some minor difficulties finding the right elevator, I was welcomed by the manager who took good care of me. The room is small (as always in Hong Kong), but was clean and bed comfortable. It was very quiet too, despite the bustling area.

already stayed here twice, agree - nothing to shout about but serves the purpose. only stayed on the single bedroom type and its quite small not ideal for western body types but suits asian well. near the symphony of lights, star ferry, avenue of stars.

Very polite and helpful owner, she helped us out at a time of emergency and was sweet to ask after us the next day. The room was tidy, small, and ok clean wise, could do with an update maybe? Bathroom was quite outraged, making it look grubby, and also not in great repair. I don't think you can get much... More
