The V Wanchai is in a good central location. It is not really fancy, but is clean and furnishings are good. We upgraded on checking in and the upgrade was more like an apartment, than traditional hotel room. Includes fridge so easy to buy own sodas and beers to keep cold. The staff was friendly. Went for business and stayed... More

Pleasantly surprised! It is more like an apartment than a hotel room. Fridge, stove, kitchen utensils, bar area for eating. We were upgraded to a terrace room. The glass doors fully opened up to our own private terrace with a table, chairs and umbrella. Lovely! Modern styling with updated bathroom with a rain shower. Staff VERY helpful and accommodating. I stayed here just one night (11th March 2015) whilst passing through HK on a business trip. I have stayed at many hotels in Hong Kong and this has to be one of the largest rooms that I've had, it was more like an apartment. The facilities were superb and it had a kitchen, breakfast/dining bar, sofa, TV, loads of... More

such a terrible hotel! Checked in today and hopefully will find another hotel in a couple of days. It looks nothing like the pictures they put online. Room is run down, would certainly need a makeover, mold and mildew in the bathroom, kitchen cabinets are stained, bedside table covered in dust, bedsheets broken... The whole room looks quite depressing. Don't... More

Hotel was value for money if you are ok with limited service. Reception was not there when i arrived , doorman let me in. Hotel location is a little obscure yet reasonable distance to facilities . Foyer was pleasant with glass of wine ... One elevator ensures that you wait until the lift is free , Staff cleaning used lifrt... More

Chose this hotel based on size of the room (3 times the space compared to alternative hotels). It was in a convenient location, Wanchai, so that fit the bill. Very pleased with the modern fit out of the room which included a kitchen area. I have to say that it is the first HK hotel we have stayed in where... More

The V Wanchai is absolute value for money. I would have paid double for the Novotel Century and half the room size. There are only 12 levels with 2 rooms per floor. I was fortunate to have the top level and had glimpses of Victoria Harbour through the high rise buildings. I had no noise problem. There is a laundry... More

Hotel is within walking distance of Wan Chai MTR, Wellcome supermarket and the popular Capital Cafe. It is located at side road and away from the main road, it's very quiet. I've read reviews about how staff at this serviced apartment/hotel cannot converse in English, etc but boy, do they try their hardest to accommodate you! To find this place, you need to take the A exit towards Portland Road, cross to the other side where the 7-11 is, and walk all the way down to Hotel Victoria. The roads here... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
