We stayed here for 3 nights. Location was GREAT...near Nathan Rd and Jordan MTR station. The staff at this cute boutique hotel were FANTASTIC! We had 8 rooms and the Manager helped everywhere in the hotel that needed help. At breakfast, opened the conference room for our group, he helped serve, do dishes, etc. The hotel provides a cell phone... More

A relatively new hotel (just 3 years in business when we visited). It's conveniently located near Jordan MTR station. One may just come back to the hotel to drop their shopping bags and take a rest before going out again. It is also in a neighbourhood whereby it's surrounded by good food - 澳洲牛奶公司, 十八座狗仔粉, 佳佳甜品, 港澳義順牛奶公司 and many more!... More

We just arrived home from a week long stay at Madera Hotel and absolutely loved it. The hotel is in a great location, just minutes walk from hundreds of restaurants, shopping and markets (Temple St). Jordan MTR is only a 2 minute walk from the hotel, bus stops even closer. It was easy to reach the hotel from the airport... More

The hotel is absolutly amazing. The rooms are very clean, cozy and comfortable. There is a good WIFI signal. The staff in friendly and helpfull. The location is not great and is pretty far from the main dock (about 30 minutes walking distance).

just finished a 7 night stay at Madera. Had two deluxe twin rooms. Good size by HK standards. Love that the hotel is non-smoking! Having five rooms on each floor is great. The gym is well-equipped. The doorman is fantastic. Always greets with a smile unlike some of the front desk receptionist. They are nice but not personable. The cleaning... More

Hong Kong has a great subway system to get around, so it's a bonus if you can stay near a station. The Hotel Madera is a superb hotel near the Jordan MTR line. We stayed here for seven nights and loved our spacious and stylish room. Unfortunately, our room was only on the eighth floor so we didn't get the... More

Our recent mini-break to Hong Kong was made all the more pleasant by Hotel Madera. We stayed in a Madera Studio on the 27th floor. As featured in other reviews, the room was very well appointed and the little extras like the free minibar and free smartphone rental with unlimited data were a blessing. The smartphone dealt with one of... More

Stayed here for 2 consecutive nights in a Deluxe room with a king-size bed located in the 17th floor - enjoyed the facilities, services and ambient. I keep coming back to this hotel for the four reasons, 1) the service is great and thanks to Peter Kan for this, 2) it's a smart boutique hotel with rooms with great views, 3) it's conveniently located in the Jordan station of Kowloon near the MTR, and 4) the 29th floor rooftop terrace (Horizonte) is fab.

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
