Fell in love with the hotel Madera and I wish we had stayed there longer. Good location amazing service and fantastic and well equipped room, bathtub with a jacuzzi was a nice addition. The decor is very welcoming and cosy and the service speaks excellent English and is always happy to help, Madera has become my go to hotel when... More

This is one of the best hotel room I have ever had (we had a deluxe king). The room is really clean and modern, the bed very confy, the ac is great and the wifi strong. The staff is nice and friendly. I would definitely return there if I ever pass by HK again.

I stayed here three days for my entire trip to Hong Kong. My first two choices recommended by a friend were full, and this hotel is on the Kowloon side, across the water from Hong Kong. Things I liked: • The hotel is fairly easy to find and convenient. It is about two short blocks from the Jordan metro station.... More

I have done many research before decided to book Madera for my HK family Trip coz I need a comfy and convenient place with my 2 kids which aged 3 and 5. It is near to MTR (Jordan station exit B2) with less than 5 mins walking distance and most importantly for disable/pram access to the station! We booked a... More

There are many reviews about this hotel, so I'll just try to sum up the good and the bad. Starting with the good: Hotel/Room - This hotel is fairly new and the room is reasonably sized by Hong Kong standard. The finishings looks classy and well maintained. The inclusion of a jacuzzi bathtub and smartphone are plus points. Housekeeping was... More

There are hairs all over bathroom and floor. Bathtub did not have hot water and hot water in shower was intermitted. Price too high for what you get, which is a very average hotel, on par with, but less clean and less well-run than a dirty hostel – and without free breakfast. Location is not decent, but far from most... More

I stayed for 10days at the Madera Hotel in Kowloon for business in July 2015. Here is what I can say about this wonderful medium size hotel. I give it an overall high score for value, service, location and comfort! What really stands out for me is the amazing staff. Led by the customer service manager at the front desk,... More

I booked the Hotel Madera for my first trip to Hong Kong based on Trip Advisor, and the reviews were correct! It was clean, friendly, and felt special. The location is excellent. It's close to the many markets of Mon Kok and extremely convenient to the Jordan MTR stop. It's also convenient to the hustle and bustle of Nathan Road.... More

Direct bus A22 (HK$39) from airport, alight at 4th stop (Jordan) and walk less than 5 mins. It is located within 5 mins from exit B1 of Jordan MTR. Many food options and convenience stores nearby. The room was well decorated, clean and wifi was strong. First night tit-bits were free. Hotel provides a handy phone for free calls locally... More

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
